Once again, done at work on a phone so the quality is garbage. But I wanted to doodle

Firstly OH MY GOD- I drew different characters for once. Besides Lumpy and Flippy, Pop and Disco Bear are another couple favorites of mine. And they were characters I also knew what I wanted to do with them right off the bat when starting this AU.

Second one is just Swap Lumpy and Swap Flippy as humans. I wanted to be creative and give Flippy some bear ear looking dreadlocks (cause if human Flippy had a full head of hair, I think he’d have dreadlocks.) Still practicing drawing that type of hair so it might not look super good right now but I’m trying. It was supposed to look like there were shadows covering Lumpy’s face but it looks bleh. He kept his long hair here, he intentionally grew it out to be able to hide his face easier. (Also idk how to draw shoes- fuck)

I had a couple doodles for my Swap AU lined up so I figured I’d post them real quick. Lumpy’s design kinda changes in both because I was trying to refine it and decide on a final look (his final look is the one in the first doodle). And that bear is Flippy, because of course it is. I’m extremely pathetic when it comes to my ships.

The second doodle was made before the first one and shows off Lumpy’s prosthetic leg and broken antler better. He was originally supposed to have just one prosthetic but I later decided on him having two (but they’re usually hidden under his boots). I’m trying to adapt certain prosthetics to my style so they’re not super well drawn yet, but I’m trying.

And also a small update. I do have names for Lumpy’s alters now. I named them Sarge and Shrap. But they’re definitely subject to change. Ugh, I love my stupid little guys so much 💙

Oh boyohboyohboy I get to talk about my AU again! (I say as if I can’t just talk about it at anytime, but it’s more fun when people ask about it).

Since I’ve been doing some more writing for the AU, I can actually share some small facts about the AU and its characters. But I’ll start with some general facts about the AU first:

- The point of the AU was to swap character roles but keep their personalities sorta similar to their original counterparts. Basically the characters fulfill the roles in their own unique way, like with Pop being a tango dancer instead of a disco dancer.

- But other than that, the universe is basically the same as base Happy Tree Friends!

- I do have quite a few episode rewrites I’ve thought up, because when the characters keep their base personality (or something close to it) some episodes need to be rewritten to make better sense. I think the biggest one for me to rewrite is gonna be “Double Whammy” (Mainly because it’s more of a triple whammy, or whatever the word you use for a triple is).

- I haven’t made any ships canon to the AU, but there’s a couple I’m tempted to make canon! (In case you’re curious, it’s Flumpies and DiscoPop) Even though I’ve said all my versions of Flumpies are married, I’m still on the fence on whether or not I wanna make it like…CANON canon to the AU.

- As of right now, the Ka-Pow characters haven’t been swapped and I’m not sure if I will.

Okay now time for some actual character misc. facts! Some are kinda just silly, others are a bit important. Some characters have more than just one fact listed. There’s a lot, so do buckle up.

- Toothy has put nail polish over his teeth once (horrible mistake, he hasn’t tried it since)

- Giggles regularly takes out her own ankle with her scooter.

- Cuddles is an absolute menace at baseball. Don’t let him be pitcher.

- Lumpy here is actually a corporal and not a sergeant. Just a rank below sergeant though! Although he would’ve been a sergeant later on if he wasn’t discharged. (Honorable discharge)

- Lumpy has two alters instead of one. This decision was made because I couldn’t decide between the two versions of his alter I made. They’ve yet to be given names though. (I’ll go more in depth on them some other time, there’s a lot to dig into regarding Lumpy’s war trauma)

- Where OG Flippy lost both his hands during Operation: Tiger Bomb, Lumpy here has lost both his legs instead (cut off just below the knees), making him a double amputee.

- His one antler is broken off but the antler itself is still in his house. It’s usually propped up against a wall.

- Flippy isn’t incompetent or stupid like OG Lumpy is, he’s just clumsy and accident prone. He’s more of a dork than an idiot.

- And much like OG Lumpy, Flippy has a love for communicating with grocery store produce, except he talks to cucumbers, not lettuce.

- Although due to all his mishaps and accidents, Flippy considers himself a bit of a bad luck charm. A title he doesn’t wear proudly because who would?

- Oh he has a pet penguin too.

- Petunia’s absolutely horrified at the thought of someone finding out her nerdy interests because in her mind “omg- girls don’t typically like superhero comics! If they find out I like them they’ll think I’m weird!”

- She loves keeping her room tidy due to all the comics and action figures she organized. She spent a good 4 hours on that organization.

- Unfortunately her mom found the yaoi AND the yuri and donated it to Goodwill (plz get the reference)

- Pop and Disco Bear are kinda one and the same. Two sides of the same coin. They both experienced the same things in life (besides Disco not having a kid) but the paths they went down because of said events are different. Pop got better, Disco did not.

- Pop, in true tango dance style, usually holds a rose in his mouth. But it’s a running gag with him that he just has multiple at all times. Where does he get all those? Nobody knows.

- The rose actually replaces his smoke pipe. Although he does still smoke cigarettes from time to time.

- Bisexual. Cheers for both teams and yet still gets no play.

- Cub, did I mention Cub? He’s still here! And he’s still Pop’s son. He didn’t swap with anyone in this AU. Mainly because I thought it would’ve been nicer to keep them a father-son duo.

- Cub here is a teen. He was originally supposed to still be a baby who’d ride on Pop’s shoulder or head, but I wanted to try something different. So that means Cub has his own personality now. And if I had to describe it, it’d be simple. Angsty teen.

- Disco Bear is a fucking mess, let’s just get that out of the way. Crusty, dusty, smells like unwashed bedsheets.

- Yearns for love but is also absolutely terrified of it. He’ll usually try and mask that yearning by saying stuff like “love is pointless.” He’s only ever trying to convince himself rather than anyone else by saying that.

- He and Pop have a real good friendship, but Disco holds a bit of envy towards him. Mainly due to the fact Pop was able to move on so easily and Disco wasn’t. It’s nothing seriously personal.

- Nutty picked up the whole candy chemist thing from Sniffles! They used to hang out a lot before Sniffles kinda went a little…well, nutty, so he retained a few chemistry things from their time together.

- While he is on a smooth recovery from his sugar addiction, withdrawal symptoms do hit him from time to time. His jitters and twitches never fully went away either. Needless to say that leads to a LOT of accidents. (And death. Because HTF)

- Sniffles is a bit of a recluse these days. He’s way too hyper focused on trying to capture and eat the ants. (Their dynamic hasn’t changed much from the OG show).

- His handwriting sucks. It’s on par with doctor handwriting. He’s the only one who can understand/read it

- Incredibly impulsive, doesn’t test run a lot of his inventions. (Again, lots of accidents and death. Because HTF)

- Handy and The Mole are more of scammers than literal thieves, but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy a good heist from time to time. It’s mainly an adrenaline rush for both of them.

- But being good scammers means they’re both good at manipulation. Especially Mole.

- Mole isn’t actually blind, but Handy is actually still missing his hands.

- Tried robbing Lumpy’s house once, never will do it again. It wasn’t pretty. Needless to say becoming makeshift Christmas decor is extremely painful.

- Lifty and Shifty are probably the worst construction duo of all time.

- They’re both banned from handling glass window panes of any size.

- Lifty never wears a hard hat. He’s got too much pride for that.

- Russell in this AU didn’t originally start with a missing eye, hand, and both legs. He got those due to a freak accident that happened out at sea, and one that also caused him to never wanna sail again.

- Ever since said accident, Russell’s become a bit reclusive and even cowardly. Which he’s a little ashamed of.

- Despite that, he never dropped his pirate speak and lingo, and his love of the ocean.

- He’s got a pet goldfish named Goldie. She’s kind of like an emotional support pet for him.

- Needless to say Flaky was NEVER meant for the sea. So naturally they freak out at something as simple as the boat rocking.

- The reason Flaky did wanna take up sailing and other ocean related activities was to get over their fears and become braver. (And what’s braver than a strong sailor or pirate?)

- They actually enjoy interacting with the sea life. When it’s not murderous. They also enjoy collecting seashells and other items from the ocean.

- Kinda like OG Mime, Splendid isn’t limited to one kind of entertainment act. He’s sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to circus acts. He can do almost anything! (Except actually be competent when performing)

- Since OG Splendid is based off Superman, it only makes sense to base swap Mime off another superhero, and that’s superhero is Wonder Woman! Although he’s more loosely based off her rather than being a creature version of her, unlike OG Splendid.

- Mainly due in part to the fact she uses an invisible jet and Mime pantomimes using objects all the time.

- Actually does try and puts in the effort to save people, but having no huge powers like Splendid does puts him at a disadvantage. (He can only use invisible objects and that’s it).

- Lammy is a Greek statue of unknown origin.

- How did she get there? Why does she do stuff? How can she do stuff? Nobody knows. She just does because she’s chill like that.

- Except her fuckass pickle brings along a lot of misfortune and misery.

- Cro Marmot is out of the ice block here and just goes by Cro.

- He’s a bit of a paleontologist, so he works with fossils and a lot of stuff that has to do with the prehistoric age.

- He’s always been fascinated with one ancient object in particular though, and that’s the Cursed Idol.

- The Cursed Idol doesn’t kill Cro Marmot directly but it does cause harm to those around him. The Idol works exactly how Mr. Pickles did, starting something bad with Cro Marmot accidentally finishing it while trying to help.
