Both girls came online in the years preceding the Cybertron Civil War, making up the last generation of new bots before the loss of the Allspark.

Specifically they make up the generation of Umacons notable for melding Beast and Vehicle aspects to a degree as opposed to older Umacons.

Shinko Windy was brought into the care of the scientist Shockwave by his associate Agnes Tachyon, the pair examined her along with other Umacons in order to try and decipher their genetic code in an attempt to replicate their beastial elements. She made quick friends with the Dinobots, especially Slash, even mimicking their unique dialect.
