I dont hate the headcanon to be clear. But i hate how it came to be ‘forced canon’ via a shitty ARG bit and now fans will tear you apart and call you transphobic to not conforming to some impromptu retcon that the creator themself didnt even act upon.
Cause like if the series does that i feel like its gonna cause even more infighting than there already is in this fandom AND just simply over the pilot itself

Wait yeah why is it that whenever someone (me) complains about john swearing so damn much in the pilot everyone immediately jumps to ‘you wouldnt survive karkat/sollux/gamzee’ bitch what? Yes i would??? Theyre MEANT TO SWEAR its NORMAL for them.
Ive since equated it to rushed timing + verbal not being as ignorable as text that makes it feel like john sweared way too excessively in the pilot, even though i do still feel it was laid on kinda thick either way. I also have no real hatred over it cause yeah it sure is homestuck and they sure are 13 year olds but john is like the nice kid who probably grew up a bit sheltered and therefore somewhat prudish and therefore wouldnt tack on fuck as a filler word to everything. But thats just my take for him in early acts. Cause this definitely does change. Anyways.

Ive seen it worse on tiktok mainly cause i dont comment on things here like i do over there. I literally got called illiterate and a newgen for bringing it up lmao. But like. I still see the community messages and posts from others about it on here and roll my eyes every time someone thinks ‘its better than slurs’ is the gotcha they think it is. Come on guys
