“Hey— Y/N! Y/N!”
You freeze in your steps, eyes closing from your name being called in an all-too familiar tone.
“Where the hell were you this morning, lady?”Â
Hearing the harshly spitted words down at the end of the dorm hall, you slowly turn with a swear under your breath.Â
“Why are you cursing me out at ten in the morning? It’s a Tuesday. Relax.” You put your arms out in surrender.
The brunette gestures his hands out in confusion to your nonchalance, face scrunched in annoyance as he stalks towards you. “You left me hanging this morning at the cafe! I even got your usual disgusting black coffee and you didn’t show.”
Tucking your lips into your mouth, you’re lost on making an excuse. Ever since last Sunday’s dreadful realization of— “Oh fuck, I’m actually developing feelings for this asshat”— you had decidedly bailed on your Tuesday meetups.
Now… yes. It was very rude to bail without saying anything. However, it was all karma now, running into Wonbin at the dorms anyway. Just your luck.
“… You remember me taking my coffee black?”Â
Even you know your words are meek.
Wonbin is lost, his usual relaxed and sleepy eyes wide. “... That’s what you picked out in what I just said to you?” His eyebrows raise, brain almost producing smoke, trying to figure out why your comment is so off-topic.
Freaking out, you roll your eyes, looking around like you should be anywhere but here at this moment. Your cheeks are warm from confrontation, still blubbering for what to say— especially since Bin looked insanely good right now.Â
He looks like he just got out of the shower with his dark hair wet, changed into his usual annoying black muscle tee and cargo pants. Seeing as he smelt like cologne and warm steam, you’re assuming he had been to the gym this morning, showered, and then immediately changed and chased you down this hallway.
“Look, I was busy, okay? I forgot about this— project I have to finish up on. And also Sohee convinced me to feed his… fish… before class…”Â
Wonbin only blinks before slowly smirking. It morphs into a large grin, all toothy from the embarrassment starting to grow on you. It’s written clear as day all over your expression.
“You’re a shit liar, you know that? Always have been. Let me guess, you’ve been thinking about what I said Saturday night.”Â
He’s irritatingly smug, almost happy to have this effect on you. The worst part was that he wasn’t wrong. It was all you’ve been able to think about.Â
“Ohhh, that? Your stupid, drunken confession about liking me freshman year? Why would I? It’s just one of your usual crappy jokes.” You wave a hand, glancing off to the side in nerves.
Bin only cocks his head, eyes squinting before taking a step closer. You instinctively move back but Wonbin takes a hold of your elbow, the contact making your heart sing.
“Y/N, that’s not true. Stop lying.”
“I’m not lying,” You scoff, twisting out of his hold. “I just know you hardly take anyone seriously. Why would I have reason to believe you? You’ve practically dated half the girls on this campus since then. It’s been three years too.”Â
Suddenly, Wonbin’s jaw tightens, serious. Your stomach does a flip at the dark look growing in Bin’s eyes, pupils blown out in emotion.
“Look, I may have been drunk confessing to you, but what I said was true. Now don’t stand here and tell me you feel nothing for me because I know you’ll be lying.”Â
“You’re… you’re being serious?”
He lets an incredulous scoff, shaking his head. “Yes Y/N, I like you! I don’t know how much more I can spell it out. Who else would be able to handle your daily bullying? Or how to steal my hoodies and stain them to shit? How you inhale half of my fucking food every time we go to the dining hall or—! Even eat all my cereal and take up a drawer in my closet right now? Ugh, you even drink black coffee. I hate that and I hate the smell of it on you. Who does that? That’s vile.”
You can’t help the grin that overtakes your face, hand clutching Wonbin’s while he’s all riled up.
“Okay okay, I’m sorry, alright? I didn’t know. Let me sit on it for a second… jeez.”Â
You let air out from your mouth, now pressing the back of your hands to your cheeks. The butterflies in your stomach can’t seem to calm down and Bin’s over-looming presence crowding you didn’t help.
Out of nowhere, he speaks up again, bending a little down to get in your face. “Who’d you get your usual coffee with then? You replacing me, hm?”Â
You choke, looking up. You can tell he’s trying to break the ice and you feel a little better already, snorting.
"If you say that guy in the beanie from the other day, I'll be mad. What's his fuck ass name, again? Sock...? Seok—?"
“Shut up, I can get a coffee with whoever I want. Besides,” You peek at your phone. “Don’t you have class soon, asshat? What are you still doing at the dorm?”
He sees through your facade of trying to avoid this conversation again, grabbing the small of your waist with a smile. With him tugging you closer, it’s harder to hide how fast your heart is beating.
“Say you missed me.”
You narrowly miss Bin’s pinch to your cheek, only glaring with no menace behind it. With a palm placed on his solid chest, you try to calm down at his advances.
"Ugh, no! You’re so cringe, I didn't miss you." Â
The smile on Wonbin’s handsome features only grows wider.
"Mmm, right. At least look me in the eye when you say that, then I’ll leave it alone."Â
Of course you can’t seem to make eye contact suddenly.Â
“Screw you!”
Wonbin’s laugh echoes out as you shove at him, hiding your smile by turning away. By God, was he irritating…

The floor of the club is slowly more packed with people looking for a good time tonight. Neon lights strobe on the dancefloor, illuminating the crowd of moving bodies dancing to Shotaro’s set. The bass is thumping and you can hardly hear anything else besides plastic cups clinking together, and the loud chatter around you.
The floor behind the bar is frustratedly slippery and wet, as always, and you try not to fall as you’re squeezing by Chisa. The crowd is a decent size tonight so you nudge her, gesturing your chin towards her boyfriend at the dj table, having the time of his life.Â
Shotaro is busy twisting knobs and mixing with a pair of headphones around his neck, a few of his friends around behind him sipping and enjoying their time up there with him. You don’t recognize anyone unfortunately, wishing you were seeing Jurin.
“He’s doing great out there!” You yell over the music, head bobbing along to the beat as you make a rum and coke for someone, scooping ice into a cup and a large jug.Â
Of course, your side of the bar had run out of ice ten minutes ago and despite calling over the walkie for more, no one is around with a bucket of it yet. Now you’re just stealing from Chi’s side.
Chisa gives a bright smile to you, not noticing your blatant robbery, her usual neat pink hair ruffled from the chaos of bartending. She grins over to her Taro who is happily waving along with the crowd.Â
“He is! I’ve been telling him he needs to get back into it again! What better place than the Fix?”
You purse your lips, impressed at his skills and nodding along to the Don Toliver song before crossing behind your friend again. You finish off with the girl who ordered, pour the ice you stole in your bin, and go to make her friend her mojito.Â
Finishing their order up, you yell over the music, “Do you want a tab open?”
The girls are extremely pretty, which you had complimented them earlier. They look at one another, seemingly confused about how to reply. They’re about to answer when Sungchan appears from the thick line of people at the bar, sliding in smoothly.Â
His hair which was slicked back at the start of the night, is now a little disheveled. It only adds to his handsome features though, and the two girls are surprised at his appearance, clearly frazzled at your best friend’s attractiveness.
“You ladies are at table three, right? It’s already open under your friend’s name! Jake Sim?” Channie gives a charming smile while he leaned over to talk to them, to which the girls make a face of realization, nodding, and thanking him.Â
“You girls are good then, have a good night!” You send them off and they walk away, but not without looking back at Sungchan and talking to themselves.Â
As you’re punching in their drinks under table three’s tab, Channie leans over the counter, a thumb thrown over his shoulder.Â
“That Jake guy, he’s friends with Jay!”
“What?” You immediately look up while pointing to the floor, eyebrows raised in incredibility, “He’s here?”Â
Sungchan nods, “Yeah, he called me over and asked if you were working tonight!”
Rolling your eyes, you ask the two impatient guys beside Sungchan for their drink orders, “Of course I’m working, he knows I always am! Dumb ass question… what’d you say?”
Channie’s eyes squint, hands on the sticky surface splaying out in a seemingly obvious manner. “Well, I said yeah! Should I not have?”
You scoff, amazed at your friend’s complete idiocy around Jay. Of course, not that you told him too much about you and your “boy toy,” but you figured that if you rolled your eyes at the mention of the man’s name enough, your oblivious friend would get the hint around the subject.
You and Jay— a handsome, dark-haired producer you had met at this exact club six months ago— began talking. He was charming and quiet, which you liked despite the absolute mayhem that was the nightclub you bartend at.Â
It was simple; he asked for your number and when you were clocking out, and one thing led to another. Lonely and looking for company that night, you were in Jay’s bed and had a great time. He was captivating, with soft lips that knew just the thing to say, and how to take care of you, easy as that.Â
For a solid month, Jay would come in every weekend to see you before the club closed, hanging around the bar with easy conversation as you closed up and then you would sleep together. It was extremely casual which you liked, at least until he stopped showing up out of the blue one weekend.Â
It wasn’t like you two actually had an established conversation about what you two were doing, but it wasn’t until that time he fucked off to who-knows-where, did you finally reflect on it more.Â
You had Jay’s number, and despite sleeping together for a month, you hadn’t texted him until that moment, asking where he was. He had charmed his way out of your bad side, excusing himself as a producer that needed to travel around; he had left the city for work and forgot to say.Â
It truly didn’t bother you the first time. But then, two weekends later, Jay was back and sweet when he didn’t need to be. The second he was back in the city, he was waiting outside the Fix with the fattest bouquet of flowers you’ve ever received and a dinner reservation on the other side of the city— the bougie side.Â
Not sure what his deal was yet, you cautiously went along with it and enjoyed the night more than you thought. That truly should have been your first red flag.
From that point on, the casual sex wasn’t so casual anymore. When he’d leave your bed, he’d sweetly leave small gifts and a kiss on your forehead before skipping off to another city. He’d seemingly forget to mention until the night-of, that you wouldn’t see him for a bit, and then come back like nothing had changed.Â
After two more times of Jay doing that, you definitely should have learned your lesson. You should’ve, but you were weak and lonely every time he’d text just as you were clocking out. Your empty, dark apartment was quiet to return to, and you knew if you replied, Jay would pick you up in his nice car and keep you warm for the night.
Now this time around, seeing as you knew he was back downtown and he still didn’t want to text you, you were determined to stand your ground. No more of the games because you refused to be that person you saw yourself becoming— at the mercy of someone’s beck and call.
And of all things, he wanted to show up at your night club with a table for his friends, along with some pretty girls? Absolutely not.Â
That’s why you shake your head, hands busy as you answer Sungchan, “Yeah, you shouldn’t have!”
You punch in the guys’ totals, making serious eye contact with Channie, “If you see him come over here, just know I’m telling him to fuck off.”
Channie laughs, knocking on the counter and standing up, “Got it, we don’t fuck with that guy anymore. Good to know!”Â
He’s about to walk off but you exclaim, waving at him over the noisy surroundings, “Get me ice!”
Sungchan is throwing his head back in annoyance, “Come on!”
You throw your arms up, taking another person’s order, “Channie! I’m packed right now, help a sister out!”Â
Sungchan is smiling while shaking his head dramatically, heading behind the counter to follow your orders.
“Don’t shake your head at me!” You laugh, bumping him with your butt when he rounds you, “You hop behind the counter with me and Chi then!”
“Oh hell no!” Sungchan strongly refuses, ushering himself out with the ice bucket, “That’s not my job tonight, thank you!”
“Then come back after and tell more people at this bar to go to the one on the other side of the club!”
Sungchan gives a thumbs out behind him as he leaves, picking up two more orders as you see the line for the bar get even longer. Your grin drops fast and you lock in, deciding it’s time to get real busy. Sungchan had come back with great speed with the ice so you didn’t have to shuffle over to Chi’s side anymore.
Eventually, the initial rush dies and you and Chi can slow down fifteen minutes later. You catch Chi in your periphery on her toes, squinting over to the dj table. Curious as to what she’s looking at, you follow her line of vision.
Immediately, you recognize the sight of a tall, broad back, approaching Taro and dapping up him and his friends in apology for being late.
“What the fuck is Anton doing here?” You ask, shuffling to work closer to her to chat.Â
The corner of Chi’s lips spread down as she shrugs, “I didn’t know he was back in town. Good thing Juria isn’t working right now.”
You and Chi both laugh at that, at least until you see the person you’re talking about literally round the corner and wave at the other end of the bar. Juria’s blonde hair sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the crowd as she happily waves you both down, the cutest grin on her face.Â
You and Chi would definitely be smiling at her sudden appearance to visit, if it weren’t for who Juria had brought with her— a man whose hands are on her waist— and Anton, her ex, literally drinking and chatting with Shotaro near the dj table right now.Â
Sure, normal exes would just give dirty looks to one another, or ignore each other. Juria and Anton were not normal exes by any means, and you and Chi knew that very well.
Both of you share a look of distress, especially when you see Shotaro swap with someone at the dj table. Taro then wraps an arm around Anton, the other around one of his friends you didn’t recognize, and starts heading towards you two.
“Oh, what the fuck, is Anton coming over here?!” Chi exclaims, going back between looking at Juria and Anton.Â
“Okay, wait, they cannot see one another. World War III would start if Juria saw Anton here, the latter with a man slung around her too.” You usher out in urgency, slipping by Chi to meet Juria at the end of the bar.Â
Slapping a grin on, you hug Juria, who seems a little drunk but happy nonetheless.Â
“Hi love! What are you doing here!?” You genuinely mean the question, eyes shifting to this guy behind her.Â
“I told you, I went on a date with Leehan! You can finally meet him!” Juria cheers, quickly unwrapping said man from around her and pulling him to her side.Â
You give a forced smile to Leehan given the situation, knowing this guy’s good looks would really piss off Anton.Â
Giving a glance to Chi behind you, she’s equally terrified. Sliding over to block the view of the four all chatting, you shake Leehan’s hand.Â
“Happy to meet you finally! Was wondering who our lovely Juria has been talking to! What are you two doing here though? Just… saying hi?” You cringe, Leehan catching onto the mood with a quirk of his brow.Â
“Uh, yeah! We were just in the area from dinner and Juria wanted to stop by. Anyways, we won’t take you away from the bar too much, we’ll—”
Juria’s smile drops and you immediately sense the trouble brewing as she leans back from the bar, peeking over your side. “Don’t tell me that’s—”
“You know—!” You scratch at your head, practically moving back and forth to block her view, “You two should get out of here! Why’d you even willingly come here on your shift off, huh crazy girl?”
Forcing a chuckle, you place Leehan’s hands on Juria’s shoulders to lead her out, baring your teeth and whispering to the guy, “Get out. Now.”
Leehan nods annoyingly slow, and you’re about to practically shove the two out the door when Juria’s face changes, the two clearly having made eye contact now.Â
“Leehan,” You seriously mutter, “Leave before you get your ass beat.”Â
“What’s the ETA for the others?” Wonbin asks you distractedly, turning into the parking lot of the release party’s nice venue.
You grab his phone to check, noticing all of your friends already at the location you’re now pulling into.Â
“Looks like we’re the latest.” You say with amusement.
“Oh so now they want to be timely, huh?”Â
You laugh, kissing your boyfriend’s cheek as he focuses on reversing into a spot. “You’re just mad because I didn’t let you delay us any further at mine. You can’t be late to your own party, you know.”Â
Bin playfully rolls his eyes.Â
“Well, I’ll have my way with you later then,” He pecks your lips after parking, eyes full of love, “Ready?”
“Yes, let’s do it.”Â
You both exit the car, heading into the function. There’s a person to take your jacket at the door, and then Wonbin leads you in with a gentle hand on your waist. You’re looking around, searching for a familiar face and becoming nervous with the amount of influential people in the room.Â
Of course, you knew Wonbin working for a very successful music label would warrant this type of crowd. It didn’t ease your anxieties about not fitting in as his plus-one though.Â
Your boyfriend is quite well-known and is congratulated on his work as he revolves around the room, kindly introducing you to many people you’ve already forgotten the name of. You can’t make eye contact with artists you actually recognize, knowing the stress of being caught like a weirdo gawking would make your worries worse.Â
After a small pause in chatting to people, Bin catches your eyes, stilling you. “What’s wrong, baby? Nervous?”
“A little. I just feel like I don’t fit in here.” You breathe out, still scanning the room.Â
He pinches your chin, a small smile on his lips. “Love, you are perfect just the way you are. And you look beautiful, don’t worry about anything.”Â
You nod, making an effort to believe him before your lips tucking into your mouth, gaze catching on someone over Wonbin’s shoulder. Your head immediately turns in surprise, mouth dropping with eyes wide.Â
“Bin… you did not tell me Jay would be here.”
Wonbin makes a similar face to you, catching your ex across the room when he subtly turns. “Well… shit. I shouldn’t be surprised. Any producer with good connections would be here right now.”Â
“Yikes…” You whisper, avoiding eye contact with him, “This is awkward, him seeing us here together. Especially after my last run-in with him.”Â
Bin grins down at you, humor spreading on his expression. “Not any more awkward than my ex about to approach us.”Â
“What?” You seethe out, about to whip around but Bin holds your elbow still.Â
“Congratulations, Binnie,” Yujin slides in slyly, raising a glass of champagne with a saccharine voice.Â
Wonbin belatedly reacts, choosing not to clink his nursing glass to hers, “To you as well.”Â
She hums at his short response, her eyes going over to his arm over your form. “YN! Surprised to see you again! You look beautiful.”Â
Internally, you’re bubbling with spite at the back-handed comment but know putting on an unbothered face is better for the situation. Wonbin opens his mouth to interrupt and put her in her place but you just grip his arm tighter to stop him.
“You look gorgeous as well.”Â
“Thanks! There’s lots of friends and family around. A bunch of cool artists too. Let me know if you want me to introduce you to anyone.”Â
You only nod, hopefully this woman would get the hint you don’t fuck with her. Yujin continues to hold Wonbin capture in conversation, promptly ignoring you. You would continue to be bothered by it but you notice Jurin and Anton’s figures from across the room.Â
You thank the higher powers above, excusing yourself with Wonbin reluctantly letting his hold on you go when you gesture to them across the room. His subtle face of being betrayed and left alone makes you laugh a little as you walk away, knowing he’d be whining about it later.Â
You’re grateful for the reprieve, taking a deep breath to grab another flute of champagne. Jurin and Anton give hugs in greeting, gesturing grandly behind them at the big table of appetizers.Â
“Oh thank goodness there’s food. I need to stress eat.” You giggle, beginning to make a small plate for yourself.Â
“You’re not alone. Hannie’s stuffing his face in the corner.” Tonie points to your mutual friend, doing said thing while conversing with someone.Â
“What’s he to be worried about? I’m stressed because I just met Ravyn Lenae. He’s practically rubbing shoulders with celebrities on a daily basis.”
“You’re dramatic,” Jurin rolls her eyes, “It’s because he spotted Gaeul here as Yujin’s plus one. He’s more eating away his angry words.”Â
“Oh, don’t remind me,” You shove a cracker in your mouth, “I just abandoned Binnie in Yujin’s company. I can’t stand her fake politeness, knowing she’s tried to get back with him whilst knowing my existence.”Â
“Are you going to say anything to her? Heard she’s been flirting with your man.” Tonie teasingly sings, bumping your shoulder.Â
“No, why would I? If he was that easy to steal, she could go ahead. Besides, I’m pretty confident Wonbin despises her more than I do at this point.”Â
You lead their gaze to your boyfriend afar, his expression bordering on full annoyance.Â
“Way for the tides to change. I don’t know why I ever told that girl Wonbin was single.” Jurin murmurs, taking a big sip of her drink.Â
“You could say the same about Gaeul and Hannie,” Tonie mumbles, “Speaking of, who did our charming boy come with?”
Instantly, a smug smile grows on you and Jurin’s faces, contributing to Anton’s confusion.Â
“Oh, you’re gonna get a kick out of this.” You laugh.
As if on cue, Sohee appears exiting a hallway from the bathroom. Your co-worker is dressed impeccably, seeing as you’ve never seen your friend attend an occasion in a suit. He approaches his date, throwing an arm over Seunghan’s shoulder with a silly smile and a whisper in his friend’s ear.Â
The two are clearly here for a little prank, teasing Gaeul by the bar who keeps looking over to the two, a mix of bewilderment and shock written in her body language.Â
Anton is cracking up, almost spilling his drink all over the floor. You and Jurin join in when Sohee and Hannie purposefully kiss each other’s cheek to really sell this whole joke of them being together. Anyone that knows them well enough can read through all this to see Sohee is hating every second under his breath.
“And I thought Channie was the worst when committing to bits. This is another level.” Jurin sighs out, holding her stomach from laughing too much.Â
“I think they should kiss on the lips to really sell it.” You smirk, hiding your expression behind your flute of champagne.Â
Sohee finally notices your arrival, quickly tugging Seunghan up from his seat and bidding goodbye to their company.Â
“Surprise, surprise.” Sohee sings, dapping up Tonie.
“He is way too giddy to be here right now.” Hannie mumbles, shaking his head.Â
Jurin tugs on Hannie’s arm to toss it over Sohee’s shoulder, “C’mon boys! Really give off boyfriend vibes right now.”
“I was just saying earlier, I think you two need to kiss to sell it.” You squint at the two, shoving at Sohee.Â
Hannie purses his lips, about to lean in but the latter panics, jerking away like he’s about to touch fire.Â
“Too much, man! God, the things I do to get a glimpse at PinkPantheress…”
“Aw, you’re not just here for me? I’m hurt…” Hannie pouts in joking.
“Did you see a while back that Channie tagged Yujin and Gaeul on one of your dumbass tweets?” Tonie mentions with humor.Â
Hannie only shrugs, clearly unbothered. “Meh. On the topic of exes, I saw He Who Must Not Be Named wandering around earlier.”Â
“Ah, Jay?” Jurin raises a perfect brow at, “Is that why he’s floating around us like Casper the Ghost?”Â
You finally notice his presence, lost as to what his deal was. At your observance, he finally comes over.
“Having a good time, everyone?” He asks politely, everyone putting on a nice expression at his bravery to walk over.Â
Multiple of you reply with meek responses, Jay and Seunghan starting to converse about their work. Sneaking up, Sion scares Jurin from behind, forcing the latter to slap him on instinct.Â
“Where have you been?” Tonie urgently whispers. You’re lost as to why he’s so concerned and it shows his face.
“ He’s my plus one. Juria rejected the poor guy. Sion answers your silent question, promptly ignoring his best friend’s question.Â
“I did not get rejected. She said no because we’re not together and that it would’ve been weird if I brought her along.”
“Oh really?” Sion purses his lips, “That’s news to me! What have you two hooligans been doing anyway? Lollygagging about, toeing between the lines of dating and not?”Â
“You’re insufferable. Leave the two alone.” You muse, heavily entertained at Sion’s confrontation while you lean on his shoulder.
“What? Aren’t you curious too?” Sion peeks down at you, “These two will give me an aneurysm by age 30.”Â
“Mind your own business. Besides, I’d wait for a millenia for her if need be.” Anton shrugs, his true feelings reflecting through with the big grin on his cheeks.
“Impossible to mind my business given the nature of this friend group. And by the way, you’re a lovesick loser.” Sion simply states. You nod to back him up, Anton’s eyes going between you two with blinking eyes.Â
“Now I understand why Wonbin tries to keep you two apart.”Â
“Ridiculous. My Binnie poo would never try to separate me from my twin.” Sion gasps.Â
Seunghan and Jay have stopped talking, the latter interrupting your guys’ discussion to speak to you.Â
“YN! How have you been?”Â
Taken aback on his confidence to speak to you, you give a small smile, lost on how to respond.Â
“... Good! How about you?”Â
“Been doing alright. Hope you’ve been well since the last time I saw you.”Â
Your jaw shifts, nodding deliberately slowly. “Right… yes. I’ve been doing great.”
“Oh, she has been.”Â
Wonbin comes up from behind, a fake smile plastered on his features following his words. He kisses your cheek to send a message.Â
“Happy to see you again, Jay.”
He doesn’t respond, making strong eye contact with Wonbin before decidingly walking away. Jurin whistles low, shoving at Binnie’s shoulder after.Â
“You are heartless.”
“I’m actually curious,” You chirp, smiling softly up to your boyfriend, “What did you say to him last time?”
“Well, he asked me how I knew you,” Wonbin notes, curling a piece of hair behind your ear softly, “And I told him that we’re talking. He accused me of playing with your heartstrings, given my reputation.”
You scoff. “That’s rich of him.”Â
“Exactly. I said I’d treat you better than he ever would, and the next time we’d meet, I’d be yours.”
You roll your eyes at his confidence. “You’re lucky you’re right, you know? Otherwise your next run-in with him would’ve been really embarrassing for you.”
“I am very lucky.”Â
“Get a room, you two!” Sohee squawks, pretending to gag.Â
Bin simply grabs a cracker from your plate and eats it, a smug smile on his lips. “God forbid a man appreciate his amazing catch of a girlfriend.”Â
“Boo!” Sohee moans, throwing up a big thumbs-down towards the both of you until Hannie wrangles him in by the neck.
“Why are you jealous? Your amazing boyfriend is right here!” Hannie giggles, forcing him closer for another kiss on the cheek.Â
Sohee only bares his teeth and accepts his fate. “I refuse to be humiliated like this ever again.”
You all laugh, enjoying each other’s company. As everyone converses, your anxieties lessen, and you know you should be thanking the man by your side. Looking up to Wonbin, he’s grinning while listening to your mutual friends.Â
He’s practically radiant, glowing compared to everyone else in the room and a sense of pride in his accomplishments grows in your chest. Many other people have worked hard alongside him here but you’ve seen Wonbin’s dedication the most.Â
You tuck into his side more, giving your lover a tight squeeze. He glances down to you, as always, noticing your shift in mood and grinning.Â
“You okay, pretty?”
“By your side? Always.”
