Jae was not planning on going out today. 

It showed in his appearance, which were sweats and messy hairs and a sweater that was too big for him. The only reason he was out right now was because he had to pick up his mail.

Sure, he was still technically in his building, but he wasn’t exactly home. Jae hummed to himself as he approached his mail and saw the usual items. Statements, bills, a letter from his mom and to his surprise, a package. 

For a moment, he wondered it was from a fan who had found out where he lived and for a moment he wondered if it was an anti-fan, with some sort of prank in the box that would scar him if he opened it up. 

He hesitantly reached for it, examining it and making sure it wasn’t actually him who had ordered it and that was when he saw a name.

Yook Junjae.

“Oh, this isn’t for me,” he said with a sigh of relief but immediately after froze again. 

Who the hell is Yook Junjae? I don’t know who this is. Why do I have their pacakge? he thought to himself, but of course, there were no answers. 

Instead, the boy walked around the backstage area with a bag of snacks and drinks in his hand, looking for Junjae. He was feeling light thanks to the fact that his performance was already over. A couple of hours earlier he could barely think straight. 

Shouta had watched Junjae’s performance earlier and was mesmerized by it. There was a huge difference between his amateur performance and his friend’s professional one. He truly loved it and wished he could have given the crowd an encore, since the Japanese boy felt like watching that a billion times.

When he finally spotted Junjae, he smiled and approached him, showing the snacks first. “Congratulations, you were awesome!” He said enthusiastically. “You deserve some treats since you worked hard.”

Shouta studied his friend for a moment, and he could see how tired Junjae looked like. He felt like it was a good idea to bring food, in the end. “And thank you for bringing me with you. It was fun!”

The older of the two stared, eyes bounced around the other’s features. The cold brew in his hands warmed against his touch as the drops of water settled on the dents of his palms. “Junjae, have you ever thought of being a celebrity?” His question sounded like a joke, a passing by thought. But, Sangwoon pondered about this since their first meeting. It was no daily occurrence meeting someone who radiated this much charm. There might also be the small detail that the boy had an eerie resemblance to one of his beloved seniors.

“I don’t know if you thought about it, but you should consider it.” He paused for a moment, sipping his beverage. “I think you are handsome enough. No, it’s not what I think. I know you are.”

He’s meticulously highlighting words in his notebook, having always liked to color code his notes for better clarity, when his headphones are pulled off his ears, causing him to startle and accidentally swipe his highlighter down across the page. He briefly glances over his shoulder to see who caught him by surprise like this, catching a glimpse of Karin, before returning his gaze to his notebook and staring mournfully at the yellow line that shouldn’t be going down like that. “Jesus, you scared the hell out of me,” he says as he caps the highlighter and then turns around on his chair to face his roommate.

Karin apologizes and proceeds to ask him if he could follow her to the kitchen because there was an emergency. When he asks her what the emergency was and why she couldn’t deal with it herself, she tells him it’s a problem that’s way out of her field and that he was the right person to take care of it instead. Alright, he thinks, but that doesn’t tell him anything about what the project is. He figures he’s going to find out soon enough anyway because it’s not like the distance between his room and the kitchen is that big.

It had started with him overhearing a conversation between his manager and some higher ups from the company. The model he was supposed to work with for an upcoming shoot had become ill and had to desist after all. So now the company needed a new model as a replacement. “I may know someone,” is what he had said. He had gotten scolded for listening in on a conversation that wasn’t meant for his ears, but they were intrigued and asked him who he might know. “He’s not a model, but I think he would fit the theme of the shoot. I have a picture…” And he had shown them a picture he had of the boy on his phone, a picture that was taken from his social media. They immediately wanted him. Seth just had to ask him now.

     it takes yongnam a second to figure out who junjae is talking about because their friend circle is big. but not big enough for him to not have one person pop into his head immediately. it had to be hwamin. there was no doubt about it because he’s been through the exact same emotion. which also gave him an easy answer to offer here.

“coco,” he read, then peeked inside the pen, looking for the brown toy poodle pictured beneath the name. “am i allowed to change it? will it confuse him?”
