It might not technically be canon to anyone but me, but I think that after Shane leaves Montreal they don't win a single cup for at least 100 years. What they did causes so much bad karma that they are cursed for a century.

It’s very rare to have costars who seem to genuinely like each other and the franchise they’re apart of.
That just doesn’t happen a lot of the time. I was a twihard and the way Robert Pattinson spoke about being in Twilight, dude, you could tell he didn’t care after the first movie. And their counterparts with 50 Shades of Grey, they also did not love being apart of that franchise. I’ve seen this with the actors from The Office, Marvel/DC, Grey’s Anatomy, and many others. I’m just saying, it’s not unusual for actors to not really like the roles they are in or the other people they have to work with. And as fans, you can’t really take that to heart or let it cloud your opinion of the show and its crew.
Heated Rivalry is somewhat unique in this regard. Hudson and Connor are very similar to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. I’ll never question their love for Shane and Ilya or Sam and Dean. Supernatural was a show made with so much love and attention for its characters and its fans. And HR is the same.
Let’s not forget why we’re actually here as a fandom. Because we love the universe that Rachel Reid and Jacob Tierney created. We love the Shane and Ilya that Hudson and Connor brought to life. Everything else shouldn’t matter.

Ok this might be a weird request if I can word it right, does anyone have any fic recs or like, good scenes where Ilya is almost explaining their relationship to David and Yuna? Like think of the panic attack in the show, but they’re marveling about it and he just explains it to them later how/why they work and just showing the level of care and attention to detail he has for Shane and parents are like sobbing because their baby boy is so loved and worried that wouldn’t happen? It doesn’t even have to be like a one shot, if it’s in the fic I’ll read it
