I'm ashamed to admit I'd pictured Sirius and Remus the way this one fan artist who was more or less a Rumiko Takahashi wannabe drew them; seeing their movie counterparts for the first time was quite a jolt. However, Gary Oldman and David Thewlis eventually supplanted the anime pretty boys by the time HBP (the book) came out.

Reminder that there was a Terry in the books, but his last name was Boot and his ethnicity was never mentioned or alluded to in any way. Don't believe that rumor of an Asian character named Terry Aki some trans activist thought was the height of wit. For those who don't know or remember Terry Boot was a Ravenclaw student in the same year as the Trio. I don't remember at this moment if he was said to be a boy at the sorting ceremony but do recall OotP referring to him with masculine pronouns.

To anyone still in the Harry Potter fandom:literally just steal whatever it is about the series you like and make your own thing. you don't need the original, and you don't need to credit it. it's morally correct to steal from JK Rowling. -you can make your own scrawny dark-haired prophecy boy and white-haired troubled asshole and you can make them as gay as you want!! -you can make your own magic school and sorting system, no one owns the idea of boarding schools! -you can have as many fantasy tropes as you want! the main character is secretly a dragon! the school is on a floating island! it's the omegaverse! literally whatever you want!if you can't/don't want to make your own, find someone who has! build a fandom around them, i'm sure they'll be delighted!it's been years, i get that it's probably very meaningful and sentimental to you, but you don't have to give attention to it when you can literally steal the whole thing. take what you love, leave behind anything you don't. i believe in your ability to create something you can obsess over.#jk rowling#harry potter#harry potter fandom
