Bird no. 289. Tiels! . I really enjoyed painting these little ones! They were supposed to just be for the sketchbook, but they were so cute I decided to turn them into a pattern and share them as my bird today. . This might seem like a simple piece, but 9 months ago, I would have struggled on so many levels to make this. . Drawing their shapes and postures would have been so hard for me. There would be lots of erasing and frustration that they didn't look how I wanted. . It would have taken me a week to take photos of each bird that weren't blurry (yep, one by one!), and getting consistent lighting between photos was impossible. . I was just starting out with my photo editing software, and I didn't know its strengths yet. Cutting out each bird would have been an insurmountable task. . Today, this took me just a few hours! It's incredible to see how practice has enabled me to accomplish something that once would have been nearly impossible (upgrading my tools helped too!) . How amazing to look back and see how far you've come. It makes me hopeful of what I'll think when I look back later ❤️ . Is there anything that you can do now that you couldn't do last year?
