#howdoitumblr?

It's been so long since I had one, I don't even know what I should do with it.

jacebrohamxoz tagged me here... I don't generally do these, but this is basically the first time I've been tagged on tumblr, so let's mark the occasion...

I won't be posting the rules/tagging more people because either I don't know 11 other tumblr-ers (?) well enough to justify it, or I'm just recalcitrant like that. Take your pick.

1) What is your zodiac symbol and does it reflect you?

To be honest, I place zero stock in astrology. Where it has made falsifiable predictions, it has always been falsified.

2) Do you have any personal/inner mythos. (Like mythology about yourself or something. I have a ton)

Not entirely sure what you mean... I'm sure we all have images of ourselves (to be shaken up regularly by reality) and deeply personal interpretations of our histories (ditto) that we cultivate - if that counts.

3) What is your favourite activity?

Anything that feels like the right thing to be doing at the time.

4) Where is one place you want to visit, past or present?

Literally everywhere. I want to see every continent. I want to see the planet from outer space. 

Realistically? I'd like to get to Turkey or Egypt, both in the present... If I were to travel back to those areas in, say, the Bronze Age, I'd have no immunity to the pathogens floating around... Come to think of it, the Bronze Age folks would have no immunity to MY pathogens either... If I survive all the smallpox and malaria and manage to return to the present, I'll have altered history beyond recognition by unleashing a series of epidemics...

5) What is your favourite month? Why?

May. At no point in my life has May ever sucked.

6) What do you think is your most prominent personality trait?

I over-think pretty much everything (see question 4).

7) Did you have a role model as a child?

No. 

8) Does said role model still influence you? If no, do you have a new one?

No. I don't like the idea of "role models". I mean, like everyone else I can find inspiration in other people, but I don't like to categorize individuals as behavioral archetypes. We're all just trying to get by, and passing notes along the way.

9) What is something you want to get into/try out?

Fitness training. Also, more drawing. 

10) If you had the power to create something out of nothing what would you make?

Basically anything I currently have to buy. Because I'm boring like that.

I can tell you more specifically what I WOULDN'T create: Life. Any kind, of any size. I feel like taking that route could lead me in a lot of messy directions.

11) Do you have inner darkness/turmoil? Does it frighten you? Is it overwhelming?

Hold on, lemme put on my "Pretension Hat"...

I think most people are capable of thinking/doing terrible things they'd never imagine; all that's required are the right circumstances. But people everywhere manage to overcome their "dark" sides on a daily basis, often in circumstances that might crack someone else, so I don't regard it as frightening or overwhelming, just as an unfortunate byproduct of being conscious and having survival instincts.
