Warm, comforting, and spiced to perfection, this Hot Apple Cider Buttered Rum is the ultimate holiday cocktail. It's perfect for cozying up by the fireplace or sharing with loved ones during festive gatherings.
Ingredients: 4 cups apple cider. 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves. 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup dark rum.
Instructions: Put the apple cider in a saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat until it's hot but not boiling. Melt the butter over medium heat in a different saucepan. Add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and brown sugar to the melted butter and mix them together. Combine the spiced butter with the hot apple cider and mix it well with a spoon. Turn down the heat and let it simmer for five minutes, stirring every now and then. Take it off the heat and add the dark rum while stirring. Put it in mugs and serve it hot. If you want, you can add a cinnamon stick or an apple slice as a garnish.
