Anyways I have not abandoned the blog! Just been living in the real world a lot more instead of my own head. I’m still a freak about robots, but I’m takin a bit to redirect attention to some other things that are important to me.

I've linked a post I did right after the big "Oscar Debut" of K. It's interesting to look back at it in light of the current PR push that's happening. What I find interesting is that even back in March the very calculated, manufactured nature of Hudson's public facing relationship was easy to figure out, all the while his actual relationship remained private and protected. Of course, some things have gone off the rails a bit, that's why I called it Best Laid Plans. Hudson and Connor I believe, have always had a plan in place in regard to their relationship, but sometimes things just aren't executed according to plan. I want to pick out a few things that jumped out to me reading that post back.

Hudson❤️Connor and Connor ❤️ Hudson: That may seem like a statement of the obvious, but I think people underestimate the gestures of love we've seen publicly between Hudson and Connor already, and if people think anything we've seen these past weeks is anywhere near what they have expressed for each other, then you're easily impressed by smoke and mirrors. Posing in the water and in photos you post on IG, isn't the same as leaving in the middle of filming one of your first major Post HR projects, to go and support your partner on one of the biggest nights of their life, hosting SNL. Then going back to that project where we now know you had a cardboard cutout of your partner on set. Hudson as he told a fan "Had to be there" for Connor, and on the flip side, Connor wanted Hudson there to share that moment with him, and the defining moment, was them introducing the musical act together, seemingly unnecessary but a statement nonetheless and the way Connor's hand stayed on Hudson's waist speaks for itself.

This was always the plan; sort of?: Even back then I saw the benefit of Hudson having the cover of a public facing relationship while protecting his relationship with Connor. No matter how aggressive the recent PR push has been, there is still enough intentional vagueness and lack of anything truly "quotable" from Hudson about his "relationship" that I think works in his favor. Like I mentioned in another post, Hudson has said very little about her in person or print, a lot of what we're reading is the media's conjecture and fluff. Which means when this ends, and Hudcon, becomes public in the future, there isn't going to be as much evidence as people think there is for people to be like ", but he seemed so in love with his gf, I can't believe he's with Connor now." No. You read fluff pieces and believed what you wanted. By that point I think Hudcon will have enough distance to be judged by their relationship in the future, and not people connecting some dots from what's happening currently.

I was too kind about K 🤣: I saw K as way more helpful and useful back in March than I view her now. She may have always been part of the plan but based on recent behavior I view her as less of a person helping Hudson and Connor, and more a person willing to play pretend for what she can get out of it and keeping proximity to Hudson for a little longer. Like I said, she gives me the ick now, and I don't like her energy.

H/K cannot compete with Hudcon: H/K can only be convincing when Hudcon isn't also present. People should pause and ask why they felt so convinced by the "show" that was put on this month and then go back to March. When H/K had to compete with Hudcon on the same night in the same space Hudcon outshone that narrative by leaps and bounds. Only when you remove the intensity that is Hudcon are people willing to buy into the narrative that is H/K. When Hudcon is by themselves it's even more stark, because then you get a Met Gala situation 🙃, where they just couldn't be contained.

All of this to say, a lot of what we're seeing right now was predictable from the beginning and most people clocked it. Not everything, happened the way we thought, but as usual the constant is Hudcon themselves. They work really hard at this, which is impressive considering the pressure they're under. When I was their age, I don't know if I would've been able to do it, especially with so many people watching. Hudson loves acting, but I'm sure we'd all agree this is a "role" he hates and it shows. If it was something he enjoyed, we'd probably enjoy it too and believe it, but we can see that he doesn't and that's why it's hard to watch. But the reference points for what's going on are truly in our own personal archives 🤣. So, I'm going to just keep revisiting them from time to time until the current situation changes, and all signs point to this current cycle coming to an end.
