[Thank you! I’m glad that you like my art style; I was worried that I was spamming the Hoshi Ryouma tag with bad art. Have a free Hoshi.][What made me like Ryouma? Hmm. I hope that you’re ready for a story, so gather around!][The first thing that caught my interest was his physical appearance; however, I didn’t see ‘cute’, like other people might have. Instead, I saw ‘awesome’; as a fellow short individual, I know all too well the feeling of annoyance whenever people tell me that I’m ‘cute’ (and people not taking me seriously based on appearance alone). So I saw him, and I expected a reverse Bandai.][When I first heard his voice, I wasn’t surprised at how deep it was. Instead, what surprised me was who his VA was; Japanese Solid Snake! So, you could tell that I wanted to talk to Hoshi as soon as I could in-game.][When I talked to him in the prologue and Chapter 1, I wasn’t dissuaded; he was smart, cool, and collected. When the other students were panicking, he calmly asked Monokuma if they would be given weapons. I know why he did that, but I’m certain that might’ve annoyed other players.][Chapter 1 gave me an idea of how kind-hearted he was. He loves cats (Russian Blues are his favourite), and he hides his true nature behind a cold and cool persona. He doesn’t want to be seen as a kind person though, but what made me laugh was that, in the English dub, Akamatsu called him an ‘Edgelord’. THAT made him see how other people saw him, and he wasn’t too happy. ‘Do I really seem like that kind of guy…?’][Hoshi’s time to shine was in the Chapter 1 Trial; he figured out who the murderer was (along with Yonaga), and I think that’s what made the Mastermind nervous.][Chapter 2 made me realize just why he acts the way he does; he’s constantly suppressing his true personality because, while he did murder an entire mafia syndicate out of revenge, he can’t forgive himself for what he did. As such, he constantly pushes people away and believes he doesn’t deserve Saihara’s kindness and friendship; he did something stupid to tick off the mafia (instead of throwing the tennis match in a rigged gambling tournament, he crushed his opponent and ran off), he got his family killed, he got his girlfriend killed, he killed the mafia in revenge, and he’s on Death Row due to his actions.][…But then Saihara manages to get through to him in his last FTE, giving him a faint wisp of hope to grasp onto. Hoshi tells Saihara that he’ll try to pick up the things he threw away. It was this moment that I knew that he was my favourite Danganronpa character. This made me like him even more (looking back, I think I liked him as soon as I saw him).][Unfortunately, the murder in Chapter 2 happened, and I remember feeling anger for the first time in years. As someone who can’t really feel emotions or register what I’m feeling anymore, that surprised me; Hoshi Ryouma, a fictional character in a video game, made me feel emotions again. He’s still my favourite, and I firmly believe that he didn’t allow himself to be killed; he deserved so much better than what he got, and I was truly hoping that he would’ve been a survivor.][Also, it explains my utter hatred for Tojou Kirumi (and later on, my fear of her chasing me down to kill me while on roombas).][Short version: I guess I liked him as soon as I saw him.]
