does anyone else feel like Terrifier has missed potential

They have a cool clown design, excellent props, makeup, and special effects, a SILENT slasher, SO MANY actors, a good soundtrack, but somethings just missing from the plot….

As someone who has watched all the movies that feature him, in my opinion the plot is lopsided. The women are mostly targeted (which to me is a MAJOR red flag and implies its trying to appeal to certain audiences), and most scenes that delve into his plot just end up being gross out scenes (anyone who watched the 3rd movie knows what im talking abt)

Could Terrifier be considered “goreslop”? Idk but its kinda leaning into it

Tatsächlich überlegte Stephen King zunächst, den ikonischen Clown anders zu nennen, doch irgendetwas an „Pennywise“ fühlte sich einfach richtig gruselig und unvergesslich an. Dieses kleine Detail zeigt, wie eng der kreative Prozess hinter einer Figur mit dem Nervenkitzel verbunden ist, den wir beim Lesen spüren.

Interessant ist auch, dass King Pennywise so gestaltet hat, dass er die tiefsten Ängste der Kinder in Derry auszunutzen scheint. Der Name selbst trägt bereits einen seltsamen, fast spöttischen Unterton – und wer weiß, wie anders die Geschichte gewesen wäre, wenn ein anderer Name gewählt worden wäre? Es ist faszinierend zu denken, dass ein einfacher Namenswechsel das gesamte Gefühl des Buches verändert hätte.
