“She-Ra fandom has a HUGE ableism problem towards both Entrapta and Hordak. For Hordak its maybe explainable bc him being the big bad in season 1+2, but its still the same dehumanizing language ableists use(calling his disabled body "gross, wrinkly, disgusting", dismissing his horrific trauma as "daddy issues"). For Entrapta there is no excuse. Still they say she is like a child, can't decide for herself, insist on her being aroace even after explained it is harmful for autistics and disproved...”
Hordak’s Brute Strength
I’m re-watching She-ra. This time with more attention and I have this pondering. Hordak’s shown to have larger than average strength even before Entrapta gave him his new armor.
My theory is that he and other clones have this super human strength as a natural trait, only Hordak’s is significantly less because he’s sick. I think his original armor was doing what it was supposed to do, hold him together and Entrapta’s does the same thing but with a lot more accuracy, giving him more room to lift heavier stuff and display more physical strength.
I don’t know, I just think it’s a cool concept. You have all this power but you can’t let it out properly because your body fails you. I think it’s very much in character for him. Like, maybe he could do like, ONE big show of strength but it’ll wipe him out completely or basically turn his bones in to dust. So, that’s when armors come at play.
I just think it’s so much fun to imagine what a healthy Hordak could do in hand to hand combat. Because let’s face it, he had his ass kicked the one time we saw him engage. I am dying to write or draw a scene where he’s healthy and he needs to throw down and everyone’s jaws just hit the floor.
