#hooky dorian

I know it’s probably a consequence of the author forgetting about the wand situation because Hooky has been running for five years but I like to think he chose it because the wand reminds him of Dani.

So I was re reading hooky when I noticed something. We see Dani and Dorian at 12 years old. They clearly haven't learned much magic yet outside of flying and basic knowledge. Or at least that is what I think since we see that Dani or Dorian had no knowledge about Dani always messing up spells and potions. (Which they should have had if they practiced magic with their parent's) Now Dorian is able to do spells, but he probably just practiced them on his own. This would make sense since he is said to be very good at casting spells he only read once. Now on the other hand you have Damien, who is seen performing spells as a young child. He also went to school at an age I assume was younger then Dani and Dorian are in the first book. (I could be wrong about this though) So I wonder, why did their parents teach Damien magic at a young age but not care about Dani and Dorian's magic ability? I have 2 theories. 1. Angela and Hans simply thought they would learn it by themself/in school and were too busy teaching them. 2. They never taught magic to Damien. Damien just went out of his way as an extremely young child to learn a lot of magic. 

Also I’ve only read up to vol 2, so no spoilers!
