Bonus round for the @handletteredABCs challenge, NUMBERS!!  😃  I think all of these actually came out pretty decently. I like the 4 the best 😄 ~ DETAILS: Paper = Borden & Riley Boris Layout Paper. Nib = #1 Mitchell. Ink = handmade pan watercolor from @markerette. Guidelines = made my own 😉, about a half inch x-height and a 7° slant. Letter I for the @handletteredABCs challenge. Both of these need some work. The swash entry to the cap feels too unbalanced. The lowercase got wonky in the bottom third of the downstroke.

Letter Y for the @handletteredABCs challenge. I really kind of blew the cap on this one... missed the baseline connection and that descender swash is sad 😔🤷‍♀️. @handletteredABCschallenge, Letter L 😊. I like the cap on this one. A little narrow on top maybe and a bump where I went back into the hairline exit of the base, but I like the way it feels. The letter O for the @handletteredABCs 2018 challenge. He's got a little lion tail 😊. If you want to see recordings for each letter of this 'Italian' styled variant of the classic Engrosser's Roundhand script, I'll be posting them all to a playlist on my YouTube too: https://goo.gl/NEmRfQ. • • I'm doing the whole alphabet using one of my hand carved ergonomic nib holders with a leonardt principal ef nib in Higgins eternal ink on lined Rhodia paper. • • Italian is a vague term in this context that was often used by practitioners to denote a script intended to be paired with a more commonly styled one. It rarely indicates one way or the other whether the origin of the script is/was actually Italy. As a consequence there are numerous historical scripts labeled as 'Italian' that seem to have little visual relationship to each other.
