The Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events really does such a great job of foreshadowing & it’s so clear the love for the books that’s put into even the changes made. The way Fernald is shown early on understanding Sunny & worrying about her as Olaf threatens to throw her is a nice subtle hint that he’s a big brother & perfectly sets up his plot with Fiona & - not redemption exactly but humanizing plot - that he gets later without giving it away or ruining anything. I’ve said this before but the way the show handles Fernald’s arc & gives him more focus is possibly my favorite thing about it as an adaptation. They just do his character so much justice right from his first appearance & it’s all very subtle the way things are foreshadowed that aren’t hinted at so early on in the books. I actually think Netflix ASOUE does this well with a lot of plot points & character arcs but specifically I love what they do with my best friend Fernald ❤️
