Antisocial personality disorder, sometimes called sociopathy, is a mental condition in which a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. People with antisocial personality disorder tend to antagonize, manipulate or treat others harshly or with callous indifference. They show no guilt or remorse for their behavior.

when you look at it face value it doesn’t really scream mikey for one, considering he doesn’t ignore the rights && feelings of others —– or manipulate people to a huge extent or show no guilt or remorse for his own behavior. however do note that mikey ignores the rights && feelings of himself && kind of letting others have more attention than himself. 

in the most current episode of the usagi arc ( 7/30 ) osoroshi no tabi, mikey is shown to be quite indifferent kintaro ( example: literally kicking him across a fucking log, being generally cruel to him, etc ) && it could be said for the yokai. yet that could be explained away as his normal ‘ i don’t wanna give up food at all ever ,’ self so .. i’ll leave that there to sit around shrugging its shoulders forever. 

but also, listen, ever since mikey karked it in when worlds collide && became an electrical demon of some form, he’s been acting more reckless as the episodes progress. mikey literally does as leonardo does && shows risktaking behaviour && as usual shows no regard for personal safety. 

once again lets delve into the symptoms of ASPD:

*Being callous, cynical and disrespectful of others*Using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure*Repeatedly violating the rights of others through intimidation and dishonesty*Impulsiveness or failure to plan ahead*Hostility, significant irritability, agitation, aggression or violence*Unnecessary risk-taking or dangerous behavior with no regard for the safety of self or others

now some of these have been with him since the very beginning, so its very likely that mikey had this type of mental illness unchecked for a very long time && its just now flaring up due to trauma. which, you know, is hella likely honestly. 

he’s only just now gotten worse with his disrespect with people he doesn’t know —- sometimes his brothers but never to the degree he has been with kintaro.

he’s used charm before to manipulate others in show for personal gain, usually for his brothers or pizza. he’s a ninja so who knows about the intimidation but being with aspd it’s possible it could be a little easier since it comes ‘ naturally ‘ to him ( note: i don’t believe people with aspd are genuinely like this, im just going down the list && explaining. or trying to ).

he’s always been impulsive && usually never has planned ahead if he’s on his own ; going impulsively into things ( example: bradford in season one && pretty much getting kidnapped later ).

you get the point. 

but as the meta / question pushed me to talk about, yes, mikey has gotten more && more angry as season five has progressed && he shows many symptoms of ASPD, which he might possibly have.

like my meta with mikey’s AVPD ( the emotional avoidance headcanon ) i’m not going to end this without explaining the causes / risk factors of ASPD:

*Family history of antisocial personality disorder or other personality disorders or mental   illness*Being subjected to abuse or neglect during childhood*Unstable, violent or chaotic family life during childhood

( literal chin - hands ) yeah. yeah. its deff obvious that one or more of the other quartet have a personality disorder / mental illness that’s going to cause some issues && clashes. 

mikey hasn’t been abused physically in huge forms but there’s only so much a kid can take of smacks, hits && roughhousing when he doesn’t do something right or whatever that’ll make a kid grow up kinda messed up. he’s been emotionally abused more so than anything to be honest. 

i’m going to be critical of leo && raph here for a second: they’re terrible brothers sometimes. hear me out ; leo season one was fabulous when it came to making sure at least 95% that the brothers were safe && then as the seasons progressed he became less good at this. pushing them to do things that were inherently dangerous && could get them killed ——– mikey, being the youngest, probably after awhile felt it was perfectly normal more or less.

so he became his eldest brother. in some aspects. he’s becoming more likely to rush into danger when he really shouldn’t ( which if the fucking dream in the 7/30 episode was anything to go by ; he fucking DIED because of it ) && just is becoming just as aggressive as leo is. he’s learning either by example or his empathy is showing && he’s sucking emotion from his brother.

either way its not good. now with raph: raph’s very physical when it comes to things, && again its likely mikey is following in his footsteps too —– if he doesn’t like something .. just kick or hit it which he’s doing a lot more often. 

he’s antagonizing people a lot more —- with his sociopathy, its just getting worse the more its done to him or the more he sees it. mikey has ALWAYS learned by seeing. he’s got photographic memory so of course he’s going to remember how aggression usually gets the job done && he’ll go about it. 

he’s learning. he’s acting. he’s mentally ill.

off the beaten path for a second, mikey’s also been in abusive friendships, which don’t really help either for ASPD to get worse in the long run. its likely that it was in check for a long while but as things progressed it became less easy for it to be managed. less easy for him to keep himself from acting out && keep ‘ angry mikey ‘ at bay && it to take a much larger role while ‘ silly mikey ‘ gets progressively smaller.

so really .. all we got to blame here is those he watches, those who he’s been with his entire fucking life —— he’s been in an unstable && chaotic household forever, the causes are there ——- the symptoms are there. the show shows that things are happening && not for the better in any shape or form. his ASPD, tied with his AVPD && his other illnesses are driving him to ruin.
