A supercharged blend of contemporary club music, both domestic and abroad, āFirearmā showcases Homebodiās knack for broken rhythms and spacious mixes. With a garage core, grimeās tenacity, and an east coast club ethos, āFirearmā does well by itās influences, while still exploring new musical territory. The title track, a grime hybrid of sorts, utilizes fugal precussion motifs and a spacious mix, punctuated by syncopated vocals, to great affect. The B-side āBangkokā alternates between straight 4Ć4, and a broken rhythm, exploiting the nuances of each. Closing the record, Jame Moorfield applies a subtle tact; trading in for a slower bpm, he reimagines āBangkokā as a stripped back, 7 minute crescendo.
