Hey there Annony you seem to be making a few assumptions here I’d like to clear up for you.
#1) Most charities will decline donations from NSFW sources. It was something that we looked into and is not an option for this kind of stream. Money raised by this kind of event generally will be considered damaging to a company or organizations image and thus will be declined. A great example being when PornHub tried to raise money for Breast Cancer and got their donation was refused.
#2) Laughter is the best medicine.
Do I think this kind of stream will change anything in the grander scheme of Tumblr’s meltdown?
No, not at all.
But.
Do I want to spend the entire day leading up to the 17th alone, waiting for hours to tick away to the uncertainty of what will happen to my account and my years worth of work on this website?
The answer behind door number one being: Fuck no.
I would rather be sitting with my friends and family, doing what I love, creating art, and providing a distraction to the mayhem happening for folks that may have otherwise been panicking and or distraught over this new regulation.
If you do not want to attend, that’s A-OK! I hope you’ll have a good day that day regardless!
#3) I honestly am not a huge fan of drawing NSFW art, but that is a broad term and it has multiple facets to it. NSFW can mean gore, it can mean lewd acts, it can mean more than just something kinky. Personally, I’d much rather draw a background in a city or a fantasy world then porn, but I’m bending a few rules of mine due to the state of things and the stream theme.
#4) I don’t have any sex toys, but if you have any suggestions I’ll be sure to note it for the next prank I play on a friend! :)!
