hehehe Shadelight trauma go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
whenever I picture Lorna and Nobody doing the quest where you're essentially playing the PC in a game of Dungeons and Dragons, I imagine Lorna being made really uncomfortable when the guys running the game get all weird and leery over the idea of two girls kissing as they try to steer her into kissing the Princess. Nobody, being the protective ride-or-die murderous weirdo friend, circumvents the situation by killing the Princess and looting her corpse out of pure spite.
Ben is horrified, Jim thinks its metal as fuck ending and Mark just says 'ffs this is the exact kind of player I hate'.
Lorna: having compassion for monsters isn't a bad thing, its important to remember that a creature following its nature doesn't make it inherently evil or less worthy of life Me: girl this is why you're gonna end up with a balverine for a boyfriend later

Lorna and Connor have a sort of arrangement going where they're not really together and if you asked, they'd tell you it's just a sex thing because there's a weirdly attractive power thing going on for both of them (Lorna wielding supreme power as a Queen and Hero, Connor being a balverine that could kill her in an instant if she let's her guard down), but there's also the appeal of finding relief from the shit going on in their lives (pressures of being the monarch as the Darkness approaches, being exiled and left to die because of a single mistake) which neither will admit they need but damn it feels good.
When Lorna inevitably ends up pregnant, the agreement is to keep Connor's identity a secret because of the Balverine thing. Its just safer for everyone involved. Anyone asks about the father and Lorna will pull a Sparrow/Jessamine Kaldwin - she reveals nothing and just insists that the child is her heir, end of story, the father's identity is irrelevant. Jasper and Logan are both immensely fucking pissed about that because she's pregnant out of wedlock, and while it's fair to not tell people if she doesn't want to, they're family????? They definitely end up drinking together over it because they're not upset that Lorna has a lover somewhere, they're upset that she doesn't trust them to know who it is.
On the one hand, I wanna think about Logan having his own dog and what breed it would be and what it's name would be etc.
On the other hand, I don't know if I could handle the angst of that dog dying to save Logan's life in Aurora, like that is an emotional responsibility and as much as I love angst... oof I dunno if I could let myself get emotionally invested in a fictional dog and then kill it.
On the first hand however... his dog being from the same breeder as HOBW's dog but from a previous litter, and it's their dog's older sibling and its death and the grief HOBW's dog experiences is then echoed in the deterioration of HOBW and Logan's relationship post-Aurora. It also gives Logan the same dog-death trauma as Sparrow.
I know it's because you the player can end up moving your family into the castle, but can we talk about how the monarch's bedroom comes set up with a child's bedroom and playroom attached to it? That was Logan's room before it was yours, and presumably Sparrow's before it was his, so did Logan and HOBW used to sleep in that bedroom when they were very small? Did Sparrow keep their children close to them for as long as they could, until they were big enough and old enough to not want to sleep in the 'little kid' room and want their own spaces? Did they preserve those rooms so that their grandchildren would have the same closeness with their parents?
And Logan preserved those rooms too. He never went out of his way to marry or have children even before going to Aurora, but they're intact in spite of it all. How many memories are bound up in those rooms, do you think? First of himself as a child, and then later of his sibling - maybe they serve as a reminder of a more innocent time, rather than being maintained for practical purpose. And in the end, they're given purpose once again with his sibling's children. Little ones play in the playroom, have stories read to them, and then are tucked into bed at the end of the day.
