she’d come to see him off, knowing that the club had some business outside of charming.  didn’t know if she’d see him tonight or not.  nothing ever seemed to go as planned for those boys.  just as she was heading to her car, she saw the girl.  probably here for the same reason.  ❝ hey, erica. ❞  there is a request she has in mind, but would it be too weird?  surely it couldn’t be, the two were fairly close.  ❝ listen it’s...  the anniversary of my daughters passing. ❞  murder is more like it.  ❝ every year i go to where it happened, just to...  to pay my respects, let her know i’m doing okay. ❞  last year she’d gone with tig, but since he wasn’t going to be around today, she figured maybe the girl she pretty much considered a second daughter would like to accompany her.  ❝ would you want to head out there with me?  then maybe we can grab a bite or something. ❞

     ❛     𝒚𝒐𝒖  𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅  𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅  𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌  𝒕𝒐  𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈.     ❜     maybe  it  was  cruel,     maybe  it  was    because  he  CARED  about  her.     but  he’s  practically  shoving  her  out  the  door,     his  6′4  frame  towering  over  her     [     shoulders  squared  back,     as  if  that  would  scare  her  away,     but  they  both  know  he’d  never  lay  a  hand  on  her.     ]     HE  NEEDED HER  GONE,     couldn’t  let  her  find  out  about  the  deal  he     &     ez  had  made  with  potter:     the  consequences  of  those  actions  hadn’t  been thought  out,     they  never  were.     he  wouldn’t  be  able  to  stand  the  disappointment     &     anger  in  her  eyes  if  she  were  to  find  out.     ❛     𝒊𝒕'𝒔  𝒏𝒐𝒕  𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆  𝒇𝒐𝒓  𝒚𝒐𝒖  𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.     ❜

                    he  should’ve  thought  this  through  :  moby  was  upset  ,  which  made  lowell  upset  ,  &  maybe  he’s  just  a  bad  father  .  he  doesn’t  know  what  to  do  ,  doesn’t  know  how  to  make  his  son  happy  ,  so  he  turns  to  erica  / / /  but  it  didn’t  take  a  genius  to  notice  the  track  marks  that  lingered  on  his  arms  ,  &  he’s  too  slow  to  roll  his  sleeves  down  .  her  eyes  could  kill  .  standing  in  her  doorway  ,  his  son  hugging  his  leg  as  tears  stained  his  chubby  cheeks  [  how  many  times  would  he  make  the  same  mistake  ?  ]  ❛  𝒊'𝒎  𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚  ,  𝒄𝒂𝒏  𝒚𝒐𝒖  ——  𝒄𝒂𝒏  𝒚𝒐𝒖  𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉  𝒉𝒊𝒎  ?  ❜  he  hopes  she  doesn’t  notice  his  shaky  hands  ,  the  way  his  eyes  won’t  meet  hers  .  he’s  a  mess  ,  he  just  wants  to  SLEEP  ,  just  wants  moby  to  settle  down  .  

                    he  already  knew  that  ,  didn’t  he  ?  from  the  day  they  left  queens  ,  he’d  known  that  she’d  do  anything  for  him  /  &  he  would  give  life  &  limb  for  her  .  an  unspoken  promise  the  second  they  had  walked  into  that  tattoo parlor  [  .  .  .  ]  but  everybody  had  limits  ,  &  juice  is  always  terrified  of  the  day  that  she  finally  hits  hers  .  he  waited  for  the  day  that  she  didn’t  accept  his  apologies  ,  the  day  she  handed  over  the  divorce  papers  :  SURPRISED  that  she  hadn’t  already  .                      the  response  still  catches  him  off  guard  ,  &  brown  eyes  meet  hers  /  waiting  for  her  to  take  it  back  ,  but  she  never  does  .  a  hand  is  slow  to  reach  out  ,  gently  running  fingers  over  her  cheek  as  a  small  smile  spreads  across  his  lips  .  ❛  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭  𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞  𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬  𝐦𝐞  [  .  .  .  ]  ❜  tries  to  laugh  it  off  ,  but  it  seems  forced  ——  though  ,  wasn’t  it  all  lately  ?  hell  ,  even  he  stopped  loving  himself  a  long  time  ago  .  he  couldn’t  blame  her  if  she  had  stopped  too  ,  not  after  everything  he’d  done  .
