A Japanese child sits crying in the rubble of Hiroshima a year after the city was devastated by the world's first atomic bomb attack by the USA, on August 6, 1945. In a radio broadcast 16 hours after the attack, newly appointed President Harry S. Truman said the United States had dropped the bomb "in order to shorten the agony of war, in order to save the lives of thousands and thousands of young Americans." About 80,000 people died instantly in the bombing; virtually every building in Hiroshima was destroyed or damaged.
🇯🇵🇺🇸Hiroshima Day💥🕊️
Today commemorates the August 6th, 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. It's a solemn reminder of the consequences of war.
It’s Hiroshima & Nagasaki Day 2026: 81 whole years since the atomic bomb was launched & dropped on the city of Hiroshima & Nagasaki on August 6th & 9th 1945, costing & taking the lives of 150-250,000 civilians & citizens in the process: Rest in peace & many condolences to the hundreds of thousands of innocent lives taken away by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki… I’m really sorry, may you all rest well with the orizurus & doves…
Should another nuclear weapon ever be used to massacre people again then we, humans, would have failed as a species!

The River Beneath The Hill.
A Rakugo-Style Narrative by Kokoro-Baka, Fool of the Heart Ah! You came. Good. I was preparing to tell this story to the garden lizards. They’re good listeners, but they blink like they’re judging my metaphor choices. Yesterday was not just another day to scroll past. It was August 6th—Hiroshima Day. In Japan, it’s not a day of debate or drama. It’s a day where bells toll, paper cranes…
It has been officially 80 whole years since the atomic and nuclear bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan on August 6th-9th 1945 by the US armed-air forces, this marks as the first atomic bomb attack in history as well as the ensuing attack unfortunately cost the lives of civilians and soldiers alike, totalling in 150,000-246,000 lives being killed in the process from both the attack and aftermath effects… And I’d like to say rest in peace to the many innocent lives and civilians who were killed in the attack and I wish you one of the best of peace, prosperity and condolences… never again and never forget on the events… here is a origami crane to showcase a sign of peace and farewell, see you all.
