'Watching 'Atlanta' was really helpful, because TV really changed a ton, and they were doing such cool things. Like, just to do one episode like ‘Alligator Man,’ which is one of my favorite episodes of television, and then to do something like ‘Woods.’ They would go in different directions, and I really, really wanted to do something like that for this, because I wanted this to feel like the tonal changes are intentional. I wanted it to feel surprising, like a rollercoaster.'"
