Something that is glossed over with Perez's clay origin is that Diana was simply animated from clay but rather Hippolyta was compelled to bring Diana to life because she was pregnant when she was murdered and felt Diana's preborn soul from the Well of Souls call out to her. I think it's a really important aspect of Diana's origin that not many people talk about it.

So you’re telling me that DC Hippolyta’s reason for creating Diana from clay is bc she lost a daughter in a previous life and yearns to have a child again and yet not a single soul at DC considered making that lost child Hippolytus? They’d much rather make Diana the child of Zeus?
