Also, people have taken notice of Hima seemingly throwing shade to the Hetalia dub!
As a South Park fan, I would've thought Hima would've appreciated the comedy of the dub too! But maybe he felt troubled, seeing his beloved characters and the writing he worked hard on turned into something completely different. I never thought ab it like that before, that he could've felt troubled, maybe even insulted
But anyway! This second part I haven't seen ppl talk about! It seems to be referencing some kind of pokemon design, but I wonder if Hima is also referencing the western fandom "ruining" his designs! The amount of artists here who enjoy drawing his characters with more body weight, or even pubic hair! (Iirc, Japanese fandoms have a thing of needing to "respect" original designs.) It seems he's tried understanding why on earth we would change his characters like that, but just can't wrap his head on this apparent importance of ours to create representation of all body types and combat conventional beauty standards. It's kind of hilarious to me if he is throwing shade at us! 😂
