The Bottomfield calendula patch is seen here in the foreground with our high tunnel in the background. Lots of hot weather for the next bunch of days means rolling up the sides of the high tunnel and lots of water. Fortunately our transplants are much better settled in the fields this year compared to June of 2020 when we were hit hard by the heat and drought. All told, we got about an inch of rain this week. Moody day on the hill. Aside from the fact that the weeds are growing super fast now, all this rain this week has been a blessing for all of us in this drought. ••• One of the ways the drought had been most noticeable this year is in our wildharvesting. Doing a few finishing touches on the high tunnel, including a little solar light to guide us out here in the dark days of winter.
