Let them watch 👀 🐄 ☁︎ I often think of pick up as a right of passage, in which boys learn the principles of the universe to transition into men. ☁︎ The vehicle for that transition can be anything difficult: surviving in the wilderness with nothing like they did in Sparta, dealing with the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship, or progressing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. ☁︎ But the basic principle is that the activity must be challenging and painful in some way, so that you must be forced to grow and expand to complete it or attain Ann expert level. ☁︎ Comfort and pleasure in modern society does NOT make you happy. Overcoming challenges and personal growth make you happy. There isn't a cultural "rite of passage" that many of us go through anymore, so we have to create our own. ☁︎ Choose something challenging, something that you're afraid of, and something that will allow you to grow and learn the principles of the universe. For me this is pickup. ☁︎ You’re forced to confront your fears, to dedicate to “kaizen” by continuously improving yourself, your communication, and your strategy.
