Just make this go away Just one more peaceful day! And it's been awhile Since I could look at myself straight And it's been awhile Since I said I'm sorry And it's been awhile Since I've seen the way the candles light your face And it's been awhile But I can still remember just the way you taste And everything I can't remember As fucked up as it all may seem to be I know it's me I cannot blame this on my father He did the best he could for me And it's been awhile Since I could hold my head up high And it's been awhile Since I said I'm sorry đ¨đ¸Art by the AMAZING @alisakrieger_ #divinealchemy #divinemasculine #divinefemine #hierosgamos #alchemicalunion #tantric #spiritualawakening #ascension #fifthdimensionalconsciousness #telepathy #twinflames #sweetsurrender #takeme #twinflamejourney #globalascension #1111 #222 #1212 #133 #144000 #lightwarriors https://www.instagram.com/p/CRAyhjQnmV7/?utm_medium=tumblr

The ancient Egyptians had a facinating culture based along the changing seasons and the annual flooding of the Nile which bought fertility to the land, the Egyptians would travel along the Nile on traditional sailing boats called âFeluccaâsâ (depicted left) with access to the reeds growing along the river the ancient Egyptians were able to make the first form of paper known as âPapyrusâ from the pith of the papyrus reeds which they used to record hieroglyphic texts, studies of these texts have given insights into the medical, mythological and magical/occult knowledge of the ancient Egyptians and recent texts indicate that they even had spells designed to bewitch or mind control their victims. The ancient Egyptians were also keen astrologers they would utilise clay circular huts and building tools to map the progress of the sun across the sky a process which allowed them to determine that the sun takes 365 days to return to the same place and thus that a year was 365 days long, this process lead to the development of the Egyptian calendar. The Egyptian were known for their advances in textiles and clothing dyes as well as for jewellery and wig making they are also credited with the invention of cosmetic makeupâs which developed out of tribal hunting and ritual markings into a process of beautification, they made eyeliners and lipsticks alongside ointments and creams for the skin though these practices may still have been utilised in magical rituals. The Egyptians were known to have great reverence of their dead and the rich in society could have priest embalm their bodies for mummification, a process that involved removing the organs and placing them in special canopic jars with the heads of deities on them and then having the skin treated with natron salts and perfumes before being wrapped carefully in bandages along with special stone amulets while the priests recited spell incantations to aid the spirit of the deceased, this practice was seen to give the soul immortality since it prevented the body decaying (depicted left a priest preforms mummification rites while dressed as the jackle-headed God of embalming Anubis).
The Egyptians had a number of religious festivals many dedicated to their various deities, these would begin with Wep-Renpet the new year festival associated with rebirth. Another important ancient Egyptian ritual was the king making ritual, in order to become pharoah a man had to undergo this rite where they would be ritually married with the head concubine or high priestess of the cult of Isis and emerge from the ritual marriage chamber as Horus in the flesh with divine rite to rule over Egypt, the pharoah entered the chamber as Osiris the dead pharoah and in union with Isis rebirthed himself as Horus, this ritual bought fertility to the land and invoked the Nile to flood, having overcome death and being resurrected by completion of the sacred marriage or Hieros Gamos ritual the pharoah was seen to have made himself divine and onpar with the Gods. This rite may have involved human sacrifice and was likely related to the Sumerian Hasadu tradition.

The ancient Egyptians would eventually come to believe that before the world was formed there was a watery mass of dark, directionless chaos. In this chaos lived the Ogdoad (pictured left) these were the four frog Gods and four snake Goddesses of chaos. Paired into a sacred marriage of male and female opposing forces they were Nun and Naunet who represented water, Amun and Amaunet who represented invisibility, Heh and Hauhet who represented infinity and Kek and Kauket who represented darkness. The water stretched off infinitly invisible in the darkness as ever lasting as time itself, through the process of Hieros Gamos these deities were able to birth all others, in later mythologies the first born of their union was the light or sun God, Ra followed by the other lesser Gods. During the rule of Pharaoh Akhenaten (pictured right) the sun God Ra would replace Atum, Meht-Urt and the Ogdoad as the prime being and original creator of all things having self-created himself.
Ancient Sumeria was positioned between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers in an area that is now modern day Iraq however it also expanded its territory out into what is now Kuwait bordering the Persian gulf.
The Sumerian culture was ruled over by kings who were advised by priests, in the early days of the kingdom these advisors were said to be Apkallu - supernatural beings on lone from the Gods but in later history after the time of king Gilgamesh they were humans, they would likely have been the head scribes of the builder cults responsible for writting the history, mythology and laws of the land alongside planning out the expanse of borders of the cities and towns of Sumer.
In ancient Sumerian culture there are a number of interesting religious festivals and observances many of these relate to a lunar calander. During the lunar month Sumerians were given six days of resting where they would take part in games and entertainments alongside three days of pure rest and three days of lunar festivities.
The biggest celebration in the Sumerian world was during December and lasted twelve days in celebration of the new year termed âZagmukâ it celebrated Marduks victory over Tiamat/Nammu which like this festival was said to last twelve days. In some variations Marduk is slain by Tiamat/Nammu on the winter solstice and resurrected on the spring equinox. It was customary for the Sumerian king to play the role of Marduk in ritual and ceremonial re-enactments that accompanied the feasting. The king in the role of Marduk would be freed from the underworld by his son playing the role of the scribe God Nabu. On the tenth day of the ceremony the king would perform the ritual of sacred marriage or Hieros Gamos (known as âHasaduâ in Sumeria) with a high priestess from the temple of Ishtar acting in the role of a Hierodule (Sacred prostitute) this priestess would have been from the specialist class of âNaditumâ which symbolised that she was either entierly celibate or had sworn an oath not to bare children in her role during the Hieros Gamos ritual the priestess was known as the âEntuâ she would usually invoke the Goddess Ishtar just as the king had invoked the God Marduk (or sometimes Tammuz) although the pair might instead invoke Anu and Ki in any case the merging of the fertile earth represented by Ishtar or Ki with the water of the sky represented by Marduk or Anu was thought to being fertility to the land invoking rainfall so that crops might grow and rejuvinating the entire cosmos just as the primordial forces before them had done. The human hosts involved were seen as vessels for the divine union of the God forms they assumed and it was necissary for a king to confirm his right to rule by partaking in these rituals. These rituals involved the copulation of the king and the priestess and may have initially been public they were later confined to a sacred and specially prepared bridal chamber where in a room above them the statues of the deities they were embodying were placed in a bed together. If an eclipse fell during any of the twelve days of the festival it was considered a bad omen and the king may be replaced with another man who agrees to perform the ritual taking on any misfortune that might occur as a result. On the last day of the festival the king would be anointed in sacred herbs and sacrificed so that he might fight at Marduks side, in later traditions a stand in (usually a criminal was used instead). It was considered a good omen of the fertility of the land if the Entu priestess became pregnant as a result of the union and a bad omen if she remained barren. In later history the priestesses of the temple of Ishtar would wear veils during the ceremony and sit in the temple where men would throw gold into their laps for the upkeep of the temple in exchange for initiation into the mysteries of sex and sexual ritual magics.
It is also interesting to note that by the time of the later Babylonian interpretation of these festivals in their own Akitu festival the king would be ceremonially stripped of his crown, scepter and jewels and humiliated and slapped by the high priest acting in the role of Marduk this strongly suggests that the builder cult priests began to rule the kings from behind the scenes in a much more dominating and obvious way than in their previous role as advisors.
The Sumerian mythologies mention a few animals:
Asu-Shu-Namir: This creature was formed from the dust under the sky God Enlilâs fingernails and was described as a great hermaphroditic bird, it freed the Goddess Ishtar from the underworld of Ikala by pouring the waters of life on her. Because Asu-Shu-Namir is described as a bird and a hermaphrodite that brought Ishtar back from the dead the myth is likely describing a Hieros Gamos suggesting that the bird like being fused with Ishtar in an exchange of sexual waters becoming one both male and female this may also explain how Ishtar came to later be depicted as a harpy/bird-hybrid creature (as shown left) despite having never been described as such and having previously been described and depicted as a normal woman.
Gugulanna: The bull of heaven (depicted central) was a fierce beast unleashed upon the hero Gilgamesh as punishment for refusing the advances of the Goddess Ishtar. Gilgamesh and Enkidu killed the beast which was then placed in the heavens as the constellation Taurus, Enkidu was struck dead by the Gods as punishment for the act of killing a sacred beast.
Kriocamp: These were hybrid creatures half goat and half fish (shown right) that would eventually come to represent the star sign capricorn. Kriocamp is a Greek word and the original Sumerian is unknown, the creature is still believed to originate in Sumerian mythology.
Lamassu: These were hybrid creatures that existed in the time of Tiamat. The Lamassu (depicted lower centre) was a sphinx-like creature that guarded sacred places and temple entrances, the creature is a compossition of man, lion, eagle and bull, it would come to influence the later Hebrew Cherubim angels who have these same four creatures as faces and the Christian Tetramorophs who represent the apostles Mathew, Mark, John and Luke with these animals, they are also related in Occult mysticism to the fixed signs of the Zodiac; Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio and Taurus respectively.
Zu Bird: A monsterous eagle that took up residence in the crown of the Goddess Ishtarâs sacred Huluppu tree.
