YET, by the end of ACOMAF, when Elain (just like her sister) seeks Azriel reliable aura and comforting energy, asking about flying, his wings (a very important part of his illyrian inheritance, a part that's deeply interwined with his traumas since he wasn't alowed to fly, haven't even learned how to fly until his brothers taught him), he doesn't shut her down, doesn't transfer the question to Cassian. No, even tho he is self-conscient, he answer all of Elain's questions, gently and truthfly in a way that she, a human that have never gone beyond the wall, never seen fae before, can understand.
