definitely your goddamn realtor. the company and the sellers are obviously out for their own interest but a realtor is SUPPOSED to be out for yours - unfortunately they'd rather push thru a sale than watch out for their clients half the time grumble grumble.

that said 4-6 is a FUCK TON for a new compressor?  or is the central stack damaged?? that's bad that'd affect ur furnace too.  :(  homeowning sucks.

4-6 sounds high to me for just A/C. A couple of my neighbors were quoted 2-4 to replace their systems. And yeah that warranty company sounds like total shit, I've never heard of someone getting the runaround like that before.

Thanks for commiserating with me guys.  I’m just... so fucking mad.  A sales rep talked to Sylas while I was at work and didn’t leave us any pamphlets or literature or anything.  Literally the only evidence that the dude even talked to us and quoted us a price was some photos that Sylas took of this dude’s laminated sheet of paper with some plans and prices on it.  I think they were quoting us for a new furnace and air conditioner, but I’m not sure if we HAVE to replace them together because they’re both old and shitty or if we can just take care of the AC for now. I think there’s also the added cost of tearing out the old systems to make way for the new ones, but I seriously know nothing about this.  I feel like I’m really being taken advantage of here.

It’s super frustrating because at work I deal with a lot of people with vastly differing levels of knowledge about dental stuff, and it’s ethically a part of my job to educate people about all their possible options and work with them to make an informed decision about the best choice for them.  I try really hard to do that for as many people as I can and I get shit from my bosses about wasting too much time talking to patients about their treatment.  But I do it anyway because it’s the right thing to do, and yet practically every major service or contractor I run into seems to want to rush me into buying a questionable product with as few questions answered as possible.  We all gotta eat, but damn it is so ridiculously discouraging after a while.
