February isn’t over yet, post HHCP valentines!!!
[ID: Traditional sketches of Rudolph/Rudy from the Hip Hop Cherry Pop film, done in red pen and accented with yellow highlighter and sticky notes. In each he poses and gives a corny pickup line:
1. As Rudy with finger guns: “You’re RUDY-ful!”
2. As Rudolph with a cup poured all over his head: “You poured vitamin water on my heart”
3. As Rudolph, doodling in a notebook: “I wouldn’t pick you last, Valentine”
4. As Rudy gesturing away: “Let’s blow this popsicle stand… together”
5. A standalone chibi of Rudy holding out a hand: “Handshake?”
End ID]
Kill All It’s Bad Dreams
My stupid little headcanon and why i have it because i like explaining things
Okay, so i like to think that Daxter Flaxter is an older Rudolph (the fact that they’re played by the same actor is definitely a contributing factor, but that’s not the ONLY reason)
Basically, Rudolph’s ‘cool’ alter ego very much acts like a less genuine Daxter Flaxter. Along with the theme of his eyes not being visible, and the supernatural strength/powers
Now, sure, Rudolph did end up back to his normal nerdy self after the events of the movie, but think about it… Daxter Flaxter is basically just a huge nerd with confidence!! He literally based his entire career around video games. Plus the quote attributed to him in vid kid magazine just saying “cool”???? I know that’s very likely just a funny visual gag that isn’t supposed to mean anything, but to me that’s definitely at least a little bit suspicious (in a good way).
There’s also similarities in the way that Neil talks about Mitch vs the way Rudolph talks about Frank (the guy who poured vitamin water on him)
They both describe them as jerks, which you could argue was one of the things that caught Daxter’s attention
Daxter also seems much more good natured than Rudy, but with very similar delivery like i mentioned before. Which makes me think he definitely Earned his ‘coolness’ the second time around… and, yeah, the new kids are playing for their souls, but they did say they wanted a leg up “more than anything”, and Daxter DID help them beat the game AND trapped Mitch in the loserville pinball machine afterward, so there’s definitely a lot more nuance there than Rudy’s behavior.
There’s also the name thing, which could easily be explained by him just changing it because of personal preference or maybe teasing, or it could also just be a screen name that stuck with the general public
That’s all i can think of right now, but I’m definitely making a second post if i remember something else
(Full drawing under the cut)
Spencer from New Kids On The Rock and Rudolph from Hip Hop Cherry Pop would both listen to "My Superhero Movie" from the teen titans go movie if they had the chance i think...
The only difference is that Spencer would listen to it "iRoNiCaLly" and Rudolph would Not

Hip hop cherry pop alternate ending where Rudy gets humbled way quicker
(Inspired by the way my southern mom pronounces the word “oil”)
Tadaaa, it's 1979 because im incredibly predictable and obsessed with the smashing pumpkins
I'm actually really proud of this. I think im getting better at editing lately
Also, FLASH WARNING!
It's not major, i wouldn't say, and it doesn't last for long, but it definitely calls for a heads up
"My lover man" by bruce springsteen is soooo sean and rudolph from hip hop cherry pop I think.... and uh I'm not just saying that because it uses the g-slur in the second verse... yeah that's unfortunate -_- but ANYWAY if those guys started going out do you think trevor (their other friend) would be cool about it or would he give them a hard time? Discuss
WAIT WHAT you're so right... give me a second that song was way more soulful than whatever I expected it to be
First of all it would probably take Trevor a while to warm up to Rudolph again; he'd definitely be on Sean's back about him. Once things cool down a bit more I can see him offering them """relationship advice""" of various levels of helpfulness (Sometimes he pockets more of Rudolph's money mid-advising. Sean pockets it back)
