HGK live action is producing a lot of interesting ppl who somehow watch a show about how isolating having a disability can be because of able-bodied people's lack of empathy or willingness to reach out and connect with disabled people on their level and how that can hurt, and then turn around and call one of the disabled characters a raging irredeemable bitch because she's standoffish towards their able-bodied precious cinnamon roll and insults him (notice how she never says anything other characters haven't already said to him) not considering why she might act or feel that way.

So ya know the concept of someone w adhd talkin fr ages abt smn they are excited about even if it's maybe unwelcomed by whoever they are around?
Yeah im p sure my younger years was so heavily flooded with rsd that i still, at 21, having not been in my childhood (and abusive) house for 3 years, feel bad about liking things. Much less talking about them.
I'm aware of this though and sometimes try to make myself talk about them. And no matter how supportive the person im talking to is, saying anything about my interests feels... bad. "Waste of time" "they dont care" "stop talking" "you dont know what you're talking about"
I distinctly remember a moment in my later teenage years... my sister was tryna ask about my interests bc i used to be really into shit, whether it was Big Cats or Dr Who whatever the fuck else.
I remember her asking and me not having an answer. After a bit of time i figured out that i felt so ashamed of really enjoying things that i just... stopped.
I think I'm a bit better than i was? Maybe? I still dont know what id say if someone asked me to Name An Interest. Art? Despite the fact that my stupid "if i cant do it perfectly why even try" shit?
I probably could get interested in TUA.
I wont tho. Like, I'll watcg it w my sister and keep my goddamn mouth shut for the most part.
I like the mcelroy shows. I try to talk abt them some. I always feel like an idiot when i do unless I wasnt the one to bring then up. Even then, if i start to steer the conversation i end up kinda wanting to apologize for having thoughts.
I don't remember how to be really interested in shit... like... in a way that lets me share it and telll others abt this thing that i love.
I used to be able to when i was a kid. But between being tuned out and flat told that the thing i like is stupid, i guess i figured that wasn't a skill i needed to keep...
