The Daemon as Integrated Self

“If the Daemon is first encountered as a guardian and guide, it can also be understood at a higher level as the integrated Self.

In this sense, the Daemon is a coherent alignment of previously fragmented elements. What was divided becomes ordered. What conflicted begins to harmonise. The many tendencies that once pulled in different directions are gathered into a more unified orientation.

Apparently all I have are questions. I don't want to overwhelm you. I'm interested in your experience too. Please tell me anything you can. No one talks about the angel's POV in these things, they're too busy claiming they're their own HGA.

You know I come at this from a more human point of view, you got Sandalphon, after all. An angel that 'ascended' from being human. It's important to have that human connection between us, to not overlook what we both have and have always had as part of us. I think the point of us going through the HGA rite in the way we did was so that you could more publicly show people what it is you went through and what you go through now, and what your husband also goes through.

Na Babilônia, existia o conceito do deus pessoal. É meio confuso se o deus pessoal é individual ou se ele trata da unidade domiciliar/familiar, mas o que se sabe era que era uma deidade menor e uma figura protetora, que a gente corria o risco de ofender (perdendo, assim, suas bênçãos), aí tinha várias preces propiciatórias para voltar às graças dele. Se quiser saber mais sobre o assunto, tem uma introdução no capítulo "Dingirshadibbas to Personal Deities", do Alan Lenzi em seu livro Reading Akkadian Prayers and Hymns (o termo personal god ou personal deity também aparece em vários outros momentos do livro)

No contexto grego, há o conceito do dáimon pessoal que aparece em Platão e posteriormente é explorado pelos neoplatônicos Plotino, Jâmblico e Proclo. Tem um vídeo do Antônio Vargas sobre o assunto aqui neste link.

Não é bem um anjo, mas na tradição islâmica existe o conceito do qareen, que é um djinn que age como nosso duplo espiritual, para bem ou para mal (link aqui para a Wikipedia)

Ainda no islã, na tradição do Picatrix, existe a chamada natura completa, na tradução latina, uma figura associada ao dáimon pessoal, ao anjo guardião e ao almuten figuris do mapa natal. Warnock fala um pouco sobre isso aqui e tem também material do Sam Block neste link.

Em Agrippa existe um método para se descobrir o nome do espírito da sua natividade, um tipo de guardião intimamente ligado ao seu mapa natal. Warnock explica isso aqui e também mais longamente em seu livro Celestial Way (eu pessoalmente tenho explorado bastante esse método)

Na tradição do Abramelin, mais famosamente, aparece o conceito do Sagrado Anjo Guardião, que exige cerca de uns 18 meses de isolamento, preces e purificação para se obter contato. O Bornless é uma inovação do Crowley para servir como um tipo de atalho.

Existe uma prática, que é bastante popular, mas eu não sei o quão antiga é, de se identificar um dos 72 anjos do Shem HaMephorash como o seu anjo pessoal com base na data (talvez horário também, não lembro) do seu nascimento. Eu não sou muito fã desse método, mas está lá.
