āNaruto and Gaara are so healthy for each otherā is a nice concept that I will not contest because on principle I agree but I Will say the fact that Gaara tried to kill him at the start and also dismissed him completely when they first met is sort of an additional selling point on the ship for me. Like a crucial part of their relationship to me is the insane antagonism at the start. It adds a perfect amount of comedy and seasoning to their dynamicā¦.

I think thereās merit in acknowledging where they Started#I think that makes them That Much more fun#theyāre enemies to friends to lovers and thatās awesome#throw soulmates in there too with the whole parallel stuff#like. theyāre Everything. but the fact that they were āenemiesā at some point is massively important to meā¦#also I think thereās an interesting dynamic in shippuden where after Gaara tells Naruto off for showing up on the battlefield (iconic)#demanding an explanation Gaara deems acceptable (extremely iconic)#thereās a moment a few scenes after that where while theyāre running Gaara asks Naruto if itās a good idea using the 9tail chakra so much#and Naruto says something to the effect of ādonāt treat me like a kid just because youāre Kazekage nowā#but thatās a different post Ig#listen. Iām the first person to talk about how healthy I think NaruGaa are. I can practically only write fluff or comedy for them#I just think thereās always potential for friction or exploration between two boys who have a lot of trauma#much of which is unresolved but thatās EXTRA a different post LOL#guy who is finally liked because he protects others x guy who is finally liked because he protects others#FIGHT!#also theyāre TWO political leaders who will do anything for Their nation.
