it’s DONE!!! Coming in at just under 80x90 inches, this turned out to be a monster of a project. I started it at the beginning of April, made all 1,936 hexies during shelter-in-place, and finished putting it together over the last month during quiet days at the shop. There are over a hundred different fabrics represented, vintage and new, with some only appearing on a single hexie. I think it might need to hibernate for a while before I try quilting it. (yes, I do have another EPP project I want to start.)

Last #hexie went walk about, so cobbled this together from the last thin scrap I had 😂 😂. That's all the flowers done for my #grandmothersgardenquilt now for the paths, or maybe not. I have to get them all out and lay them out to assess where to go with it next. I'm gonna do that at the next #hampshiremqg there should be plenty of space. #wip longest one is this #grandmothersflowergarden quilt which I will finish 😂......one day! #greatbritishquilter @sarahashfordstudio @verykerryberry it's getting there I have all the fabric I need. Thanks to some generous quilty friends. It's a project I get out when I'm wanting to not think about anything, I can zone out and just carry on with it. Let my fingers go on autopilot. I've made all the decisions already, colours and pattern. So I can just sew. It's one I take on journeys and on ferrys. And something I pick up when I'm not inspired. So I actually haven't picked it up lately 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😜 Hey it's only taken me 2 years so far!! Maybe a bit longer 🤔💭time takes on a different meaning when you are sewing ! Also, if I'm honest, when I AM feeling down and uninspired by life generally, and I work on it, I can see that I have made it grow. Even if it's by one #hexies ! And that is SOMETHING.
