So with the podcast going on the shelf for the time being, I'm going to be making some updates to the Patreon. I know many patrons were following for the early access to new episodes, as well as the backlog of bonus eps and special features. All of these will be staying up in the Patreon archive, where I'm working on making collections for easier browsing of the archive. (And of course, the episode catalog will still be available on your favorite listening app!)

The monthly Willow Wings Witch Shop newsletter (with featured items, announcements, and discount codes) will be continuing as per usual, along with the regular merch drops. I'm planning to post more previews of forthcoming merch drops just for patrons, so my lovely lovely subscribers can see what's coming down the pike.

In addition to this, I'll be posting monthly merch polls where paid subscribers can vote on forthcoming merch drops, suggest new items, and give feedback on their favorite collections! The polls may be expanded in the future to include topics related to my writing projects, which will also be generating some sneak previews once I get back underway.

After conversing with some listeners and Podcast Senpai Trae, as well as having a real-talk bit of soul-searching with myself, I have come to the difficult decision to put Hex Positive on the shelf for the time being.

This decision is due to a number of factors, including recent issues with equipment and audio, changes in my schedule, and a case of overwhelm that's threatening to become a burnout of epic proportions. I'm juggling a LOT of plates at the moment and with the busy season of both of my jobs plus my personal life coming up, I need to put something down for the sake of my mental health.

The catalog will still be available on your favorite podcast platform, and of course on the Nerd and Tie Podcast Network. I fully intend to return to making episodes in the future once things calm down, and I'm definitely open to doing guest spots on other shows once I have a microphone that works.

And don't worry - I'm still doing my bits for CritWitchCon this year! I'm borrowing some equipment to do it, but I refuse to let my witches down!

I cannot say enough how much I've loved making this podcast so far and how much more I still want to do. I appreciate every single person who's ever tuned in or left a comment or review, and getting to meet some of my listeners in person at market events has been a pleasure and a privilege.

Thank you, from the bottom of my wicked little heart, all for your enthusiasm and support thus far! I hope to be able to get back to the show proper sometime next year, once things calm down. And hey, if we're all really lucky, maybe I'll be able to put some of those writing spoons toward another project in the meantime....

I am certainly not a wildly active “content creator” and so I struggle to meet folks in the digital space but I AM really quite good at meeting folks in real life and making space for community ritual and I want to do skills trade with people who are the opposite of me.

As some listeners have noted, audio quality on the podcast has been less than stellar as of late. With the demise of Skype, I've switched to Riverside FM for guest host recordings, and the program is giving me some definite trouble with audio track balancing. (The guest's audio comes through fine, but mine records tinny and hollow even though it doesn't sound that way on the call.)

I'm currently looking into alternative hosting options and possibly getting a new microphone, since this one's about five years old at this point. If anyone has suggestions for recording sites or equipment, I'm open to hearing them.

As if that weren't irritating enough, my laptop is starting to show signs of a swollen battery and I'm in the process of getting it replaced. In the meantime, audio editing causes the machine to overheat and I'm trying to avoid that, so the episode I recorded with Lozzie and Lulu is going to be put on hold for the moment and released in August, if all goes well.

Thank you for your patience in the meantime, and thank you to the listeners who contacted me with their concerns. I know audio issues can be SUPER irritating and I want to make sure I'm delivering a listening experience that's comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
