The first of my two Tales of Urithiru event fics is here! The tags feel a little empty, so if anyone reads it and has suggestions feel free to let me know. Also, I know this event is literally for this time period of post-Oathbringer pre-Rhythm of war, but I feel like we should also have an AO3 tag for that time period like we do for each of the books individually. I’ve used “the Urithiru gap year” but I’m open to changing that if someone else has a better suggestion.
i really do love the way lirin and hesina are fighting to protect kaladin in the moments between when he arrives and reveals himself as a radiant, when everyone thinks he’s a runaway slave with a shash brand. like they love him so much, they don’t care what he’s done, they want him back no matter the cost, they’re his parents and they love him and they’re so happy he’s alive. they don’t care who he is now, they don’t care what he’s done. ughhhhh i love them

This one bothered me so much after I finished it, so I went back and redid it. Originally I wasn't going to have Szeth and Lirin talk, in my head Lirin would have offered Szeth money and Szeth would have refused, and I figured I didn't need to write that out. But I realized that probably isn't correct for Szeth? Even when he was truthless, he liked to have stormlight on him or within reach. He kept spheres when he was allowed.
