I love how Jem handles Will when he's in a mood. Will says something ridiculous and the narrative goes "Jem ignores this" and then Jem simply continues the conversation as if Will hadn't said anything. or he cuts Will off mid-sentence before he gets the chance to offend anyone further and goes "what Will is actually trying to say, although failing at civility..." idk why but it always makes me laugh when Will is obviously in A Mood and Jem deals with it so expertly. and it works.

meanwhile Tessa tends to either give him a taste of his own medicine and retaliates with a clever comeback, or she responds so reasonably that it makes Will go ??!!!! and he kinda short-circuits and stops talking. this is amazing cinema to me.
