Normally when Austin makes an entrance, regardless of the space, he does it without shame. Every fiber of his being oozes confidence; no part of him agrees to apologize for instantly becoming the main attraction in the room. There has, of course, been a few exceptions over the years, but overall those times have been few and far between. This moment, when the elevator doors open and reveal the busy rooftop bar, is not one of the exceptions. He has not said a word yet, but already someone has recognized him and waves of whispers travel around the room. As a response, his lips curve upward into a self-satisfied grin. Would this feeling, this rush, ever fade? Hopefully not.
His sea-green eyes scan the crowd, intently searching for one particular person. It has been a while since the last time he and Theo Warner met, but as they are both incredibly busy men with hectic work lives, that is to be expected. However, when Austin wants something, he usually gets it — and right now? He wants the company of a certain Senate hopeful. And luckily enough, he does not have to wait for long, for he spots a familiar figure standing alone not too far from him.
“How nice of you–” And that is all the warning Theo receives because that is all Austin manages to say during the time it takes from him to saunter through the room to the outside area where the other man is. “–to hold my cigarette for me.” His nimble fingers expertly snatch the cigarette from Theo and place it carefully on his own his lips. “If I had known you’re this excited to see me, I would’ve brought you a gift too.” Austin chuckles. “But perhaps, for once, you can forgive this unforgivable mistake of mine, can’t you, Warner?”
