In everyone's life, there were things, people, places, and so on that some kind of closure was needed. A good portion of Natasha's past was littered with such things, but today she had sought to deal with one of them. With everything that had happened, there hadn't been time for her to talk to the man she now knew was James Buchanan Barnes, best friend to Steve Rogers, and also the man who had trained her during the later years in the Red Room, and who had shown her that there could be something good even in the darkest of places, and she had done the same for him. It wasn't that she meant to keep it from the man she loved now and would until she took her last breath, but it had never exactly come up, and how do you even bring such a thing up anyways?
Steve had come to visit New Asgard, and he had brought Bucky with him, which gave Natasha the chance she had to finally talk to the man, they had grabbed lunch together and talked, him telling her about his work with Sam and her about being married to Thor, having Anya, and all the things that had come with that. Apologies came as well, mostly from James which Natasha waved off, she had never blamed him for shooting her in Odessa, she had just been glad to know he was alive.
"It wasn't intentional..." Natasha sighed, realizing she should have told Thor where she was going for the afternoon, the fact she didn't, well, she knew how it looked, her talking to a man who had been her lover in the past and not mentioning it to the man she was married to now, "It wasn't something I could just randomly tell you, oh by the way back when I was in the Red Room Steve's best friend, who I only knew as the Winter Soldier at the time trained me, and we got close and fell in love, and it wasn't allowed so it's kind of my fault he fell into Hydra's hands."
