The image flicked on and Kanan cleared his throat awkwardly. “Well, if you’re getting this...I guess my last mission didn’t go according to plan-or according to my third plan.” He said with a slight laugh. He let out a long sigh, patting his hands against his legs.

“You’re going to blame yourself, but you can’t. Not every misshape in the Galaxy is your fault, Meg. I know you want to protect me, but you also know how I am. What I’ll do for those I care about.” He continued. “It’s something no one can take from me, some may call it self destruction and maybe it is...but at least, I know I leave this plane doing something I deemed important.” He rubbed at his neck, eyes going down.

“Don’t lose yourself. I know you’ll want to, but you also know that it’s something I would never want for you. You always discount yourself, but you’re so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.” He told her, eyes going up again. “So I plead with you to keep going, to keep fighting. In my place, be there for Ezra. You’re both going to need each other...because...he’s going to blame himself too. Lean on the crew, we’re a family and you are one of us.” He told her. “I love you, and I always will...but don’t dwell on me, your emotions are important...but don’t let them consume you. Meg...you know how I felt fighting with the Rebellion, you also know why I staid...so all I can ask is you take up my place...protect them for me, alright? I’ve done the best I can...and done all I can...but something’s coming and I can’t explain what.”
