Digital offering for Hephaestus! Kind of meant to be like a general collage of how I view him.

Unlike Apollo I rarely find myself imagining his face and more so imagine his hands. I bet they're large and constantly have stains on them from art/sculpture he's done and I'm sure they're like rough and scarred from the forge, but still incredibly warm and comforting if you were to hold them.

I didn't know how to include it but I imagine Hephaestus as being like rly quietly supportive, guiding my hands while I make art, and just giving me comfort by being present.

Also included the dog I associate him with. He seems like a dog man, probably has a few hanging around while he's working. (Maybe they're service dogs :) )

Making my own myth real quick: Hephaestus one day was trying to make a wooden sculpture of a dog and just could not get it right, so he gets mad and burns the wood. From the soot of that fire he draws out what he actually wanted the sculpture to look like and the drawing just comes to life.

i attended a blacksmithing 101 workshop and spent hours tending the forge and learning to work with metal. i could have sworn i smelled the hephaestus perfume i have in between the burning coals. he is such a wonderful, inspiring god and i feel lucky to have had the opportunity to engage in his domain!!
