Pacing my room muttering to myself about how if people wanted to ship Roy Harper with a big burly guy with a bad reputation and a worse attitude who's secretly a softie who enjoys classic literature but struggles due to a violent streak he hasn't yet figured out how to control on his own that Hank Hall has been right there from the start way before the fuckass New 52 pushed the Jason and Roy duo. Slowly peeling at the wallpaper as I think about how one of the primary reasons Hank Hall isn't a more popular character is because Rob Liefeld fucking killed him dead (character wise) when they handed him full control of the Hawk & Dove serial in 2011 (otherwise known as the New 52 no surprise there). Been meaning to get this rough draft up and finally getting around to doing so! This familiar, Henwen, was inspired by the Carnyx, a really awesome ancient Celtic war horn that seriously deserves far more love. I'm still working on her, but once Henwen is fine tuned in the biography/personality department, she'll be paired with Freddy as his familiar X3 I seriously love how the rough draft turned out for Henwen, she really was fun to design, especially the three forms she can take (it was a treat to design a wild pig familiar, especially a brass one).

She's a Twisted Wonderland version of Henwen from The Black Cauldron but I really, really love the idea that her parents' are the Twisted Wonderland version of Piggy and Kermit. If only because Henry can karate chop the fuck out of people.

Hen Wen "old white"

Cornwall/Wales

Hen Wen was a supernatural pig kept by Coll, son of Collfrewy. She gave birth to 2 bees, 2 grains of wheat, a grain of barley, a grain of rye, a wolf, an eagle, a piglet and a kitten in various places around Wales.

The black kitten was the most famous of her offspring. It grew up to become Cath Palug who went of to kill a lot of people until it was killed by Cai(sir Key) or King Arthur.
