media release: The 9 Wave Music Festival exploded at the Sunway Lagoon, attracting 18,000 fans for a musical pilgrimage!
The 9 Wave Music Festival, organized by Nine XTraw and co-sponsored by Skyline Entertainment, and highly anticipated by Malaysian K-pop fans, exploded on Saturday night at the Sunway Lagoon artificial beach, attracting 18,000 fans for a musical pilgrimage!
Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, Henry Lau, EXO member XIUMIN, Girls' Generation's HYOYEON, iKON's Bobby, and SHAUN took turns on stage, delivering electrifying performances. (G)I-DLE closed the show with "QUEENCARD," creating a sensational atmosphere. HENRY, the busiest artist of the night, showcased his musical talents by playing the violin, guitar, piano, and even incorporating "Malaysian versions" of trash cans and large metal barrels into his one-man band performance.
The festival began promptly at 6:00 PM with a performance by iKON's Bobby, whose rap charisma instantly ignited the enthusiastic crowd. Bobby playfully sprayed mineral water into the audience, further energizing the atmosphere. The crowd enthusiastically joined in as he set the musical rhythm, and when "Way Back Home" played, Shaun, thrilled by the massive sing-along, knelt on stage, expressing happiness and even speaking a few Malay words.
Next up was Girls' Generation's dance goddess HYOYEON, who delivered a series of powerful songs and dances, earning continuous screams from the audience, living up to her reputation as the group's dance leader.
The spotlight then shifted to the most versatile artist of the night, Henry Lau! In addition to playing various instruments, including the violin, piano, and guitar, Henry brought the Malaysian versions of trash cans and large metal barrels on stage to create a one-man band version of "Believer." Henry showcased his language skills by fluently speaking Korean, English, Malay, Mandarin, and Cantonese, engaging with fans and ultimately collapsing backstage due to exhaustion.
EXO member XIUMIN made his first solo appearance in Malaysia, performing his latest single "Brand New." Expressing surprise at not having visited Malaysia in five years, XIUMIN remarked on the enthusiastic reception and the hot weather, frequently making heart gestures to the EXO-L fans for a memorable night.
(G)I-DLE, with their recent hit song "QUEENCARD," took the stage as the grand finale, instantly heating up the atmosphere. Their subsequent songs continued to elicit screams from the crowd, and in response to the fans' enthusiasm, (G)I-DLE exclaimed about the heat.
The entire music festival lasted 4.5 hours, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display, leaving the attending fans with an unforgettable night!
Thank you Nine XTraw and Skyline Entertainment for the invitation.
