Writing asks: 2 and 7 for "Scarlett and the Professor"!
Ooooooo, thank you so much for asking about ‘My Precious’, Scarlett and the Professor. The WIP that continually runs like a bright red, satin ribbon through every creative impulse I have. Always there, lingering in my mind, waiting, hoping, to find its perfect fruition.

2)Â What are your future writing projects?
I fully intend to finish this story, no matter how long it will take to get there. Even when I slow down, I still have a general plan—but the amazing thing is, I’ll often see a photo here on tumblr, or hear a snatch of lyrics, that suddenly inspire the course of a chapter, or have me rushing to get my thoughts written up as notes for chapters much further along the line. Right now, I have three possible endings in mind; I’m leaning towards the first I came up with, but am open to just ‘going with the flow’ as the story develops.
But now I must proclaim that I'm in love with both these characters--individually and together! And I’ve been very blessed that among my small but loyal group of Readers, there are a few people that I can touch base with about future developments. So, I want to take this chance to send out my appreciation and love to them: @strangelock221b @thelostsmiles and @letterstosherlock. Bouncing ideas off of them and waiting for their reactions to newly published chapters keep me going, even when it seems I get less and less exposure/likes to chapters I've been publishing.
7) What was your favorite part to write in Scarlett and the Professor?
That’s a tough question! And it varies from month to month. Right now, it’s writing Hennessy’s conflicting thoughts and feelings as he fights hard not to fall in love to the depth which Scarlett is guilelessly leading him. Fights his damnedest against becoming vulnerable and completely trusting, because that path had caused him great pain in the past. And fights against admitting that he needs another soul to see his darkness and still love him unconditionally. It’s such a hard fall, and he’s so stubbornly independent, he just makes it even harder on himself to resist the inevitable!
And Scarlett? Her patience with him is infinite, because she sees in him—feels in him too—a wounded but beautiful heart, that she can’t help but want to heal. That's her nature, right down to the marrow in her bones, due to the ancient Selkie blood that flows through her veins. With supernatural powers of his own and by virtue of his indomitable will, Hennessy is very like a force of nature. What he never imagined finding, in such a meek, soft form, is a woman whose will is equal to his own, and sourced in a capacity to love beyond any he has every encountered.
EDITED TO ADD: I’m such a dolt! Question 2 wasn’t specific to ‘Scarlett...’ - you meant future projects in general. Please forgive my density--it just goes to show what a singular track mind I have about my writing (and everything, like My Beautiful Obsession!).
