i wrote a whole post on here about being arab in america and feeling ignored and villainized by western media but deleted it bc idk scared. insecure. even though my feelings are valid. anyway this post sums it up well
#okay THIS is the last post before i leave#and this isn’t the first news cycle making us feel this way#and media ALWAYS makes us feel this way#arabs are the fiction villains and the irl villains in the west ALWAYS#remember how syrians are talked about#i am syrian on my dads side so it stings a little more#arabs AND muslims too#like i don’t even know how to describe this feeling#helpless?#just like they think we’re sub human#and it sucks
