Today, two rockets struck a house near our tent. My children were terrified, trembling and crying uncontrollably. They are living surrounded by danger, explosions, rats, insects, and constant fear. Instead of enjoying a peaceful childhood, they are growing up burdened by fear and trauma.

My name is Mahmoud. I am a father of two beautiful children—Jouri, my 5-year-old daughter, and Yazan, my 3-year-old son. We are survivors of the recent war in Gaza. But what we are living now is something no one should go through—especially not children.

During the attacks, I was seriously injured. I lost everything: my home, my work, and the ability to provide even the most basic needs for my children. I now support 9 family members, including my two little ones, in the middle of a growing humanitarian catastrophe.

The war did not just destroy buildings—it changed my children’s faces.

Jouri used to sing and dance around the house. Now she rarely smiles. Yazan used to chase his sister in laughter. Now his small body is too weak from hunger.

We are living with no clean water, no stable shelter, and barely any food. Most days, we skip meals. Our bodies are thin. Our spirits are exhausted. The war may be over for the world—but for us, it's still happening, every day.

The little girl Malak was born in the war and her father was abroad and did not know how to return because of the war and the siege and her father did not see her except for pictures. She was deprived of her father’s embrace in the first days of her life and now she is nine months old and she is calling her father and she has not seen him. This little girl is a story of pain and suffering since childhood.

The handsome child, Amir, is two years old and his father has not seen him because of the war and the siege. He craves some foods, milk and diapers because of the high prices.

The family does not have the necessities of life. They have no home or shelter in the current situation. They suffer from severe cold and frost and a lack of food, clothes and mattresses.
