There is this great respect and even reverence from Satan and even the other Sins with the statement that "He IS the Law." Notably even Asmodeus and Beelzebub show this respect and only show their annoyance when Satan starts his whole 'ruled the endless dark' spiel.

To me, this says that this ISN'T something that Satan seized in the wake of Lucifer's disappearance, but rather a position he already held since long before Luci left.

I feel like this role as 'the Lawman of Hell' is a position that Satan has probably even held since the beginning of Hell. A role he chose or was even given by Lucifer when the seven of them were figuring out how to run Hell.

The difference is that before, Satan still answered to Lucifer (and/or possibly Lilith) and potentially the other Sins, but NOW he basically answers only to himself. And maybe the other Sins if they outvoted him.

It also explains why Ozzie and Bee are so reluctant to challenge Satan even though they don't like what's going on. Because Satan has ALWAYS been the one to enforce the rules, and you just don't challenge him on that without a majority of the Sins to back you up, which they don't have.

Unless of course you're Lucifer, but then he's not here right now.

Seems like going from top-to-bottom and left-to-right, we have Satan, Beelzebub, Mammon, Leviathan, Asmodeus and Belphagor, with Lucifer of course being on the very top.

Now if this arrangement is meant to indicate any kind of hierarchy among the Sins, then that has some pretty interesting implications.

Like as much as I've stated in the past that the idea of Asmodeus being the 'weakest' of the Sins should be taken with a MASSSIVE grain of salt, his emblem being on the bottom alongside Belphagor would line up with that.

Also, Satan's emblem being directly below Lucifer's could likewise tie into how he seems to be trying to take charge of Hell in Luci's absence.

However, by that same token, this would indicate that BEELEZEBUB of all people is actually on the same level as Satan in the hierarchy.
