Yet he did, he held you close while you sobbed and screamed at him. Fed you medicines that calmed your racing brain, one’s that made days pass like a soft breeze in the summer. A moment of relief from the scolding heat. He even held you as you laid in the same spot for days, read you Joan Didion.

This is a quote from the NME on 29th March 2006:

Which ties this song to Miles. (It's been said before that 'You Probably...' is more likely to be about Miles than Eva from The Little Flames).

Then what about baby Alex squirming his way around the explanation about what it's about on the John Kennedy Track By Track Podcast? (25.37) Here's a transcript:

JK: Tell us about this song AT: That's the newest one from... Matt Helders: Yeah, from... AT: Let's just talk about it all in relation to time, <cross talk> from old to new. MH: Yeah, how old it is. When did we write this one? <Keeping off the subject of what it's about> AT: Errr. That were a newer one... I don't know... it just... um... <slowly> about someone that we met... <pause> once. <JK laughs at the evasiveness> Erm, but it's got nowt to do with a club, or owt like that, or going out, or any of that, sort of thing, it's more about just like <pause, hesitant> this person that we knew, that were <softly> in a group <big pause> erm... JK: As in a band, group? AT: Yeah, and it.. yeah,,, that's sort of where the words sort of came from... and... JK: Interesting... <laughter> MH: So that's the words <shutting down that line of enquiry> JK: And the music? AT: The music came from, I don't know... MH: I do get to sing a lot on it though so... <changing the subject to backing vocals> I mean, come on Alex - if it was about Eva then why not just say? Or why not say it was about a girl? Instead, we're told it's "someone." To be fair, Alex was talking about the album the week before it came out, so it was probably the first time he'd spoken about it. Any subsequent interviews he says 'girl,' and in the NME from 28/01/2006 he calls it, "a love song." This is interesting (to me), because the song is definitely about an attraction to someone, but admitting it's love, shows how hard Alex fell.

Then there's the lyric:

"One look sends it coursin' through the veins, oh, how the feelin' races" which echoes 505's "When you look at me like that, my darlin', what did you expect"

and

"They don't want to say hello like I want to say hello,"

which ties in with 'Hello You,' which is also a Milex song as discussed here.
